Re: New to Window Tint -
The law does. Tint laws are there for the safety of you and the police. They're there for you because you need good visibility in all conditions. They're there for the police because they need to see who and what is in the car when they're approaching it for a traffic violation. They need to see if you have illegal drugs or worse, weapons in the car.

Pushing the tint laws a little is okay but going extreme is just plain silly. You're asking for trouble. If you get away with it in Memphis you're lucky. In Nashville you wouldn't.

I dislike the police as much as anyone does and I still respect the fact that they do their job sometimes and that they need to be able to see if the car they're approaching has a gun in the lap of the driver or a passenger because they're doing something they shouldn't have been doing.

15% on the rear glass over the factory tint is fine... and legal in TN. 15% on the windshield is silly. Especially in reduced visibility conditions.

Re: New to Window Tint -
I immediately tint anything I own for 2 reasons:

1. I don't have to buy/wear/break/lose (see a pattern here) sunglasses. I do have to wear them i nmy co car though-that blows. I buy the cheap gas staions ones for the previously mentioned reasons.

2. I have very light blue eyes and the sun is a pain to me-really.

I have 20% front windows, 5% back, and a limo tint 9" on the windshield. I get the good ceramic stuff that my guy I use offers-seems worth it to me.
