Talking Dash Blower Controls out of whack
No matter where I turn the directional fan switch to (defrost, feet, anywhere in between) air still blows out of the dash vents hard. It does not matter if I have recirculation on or off. Is there a separate damper for the dash vents as opposed to the others?

sounds like your flaps or what ever that's called under the center console are jammed or the motor is dead.

Re: Dash Blower Controls out of whack
I think you have a blend door stuck open. More than likely it is the one under the dash.

Re: Dash Blower Controls out of whack
I had the same problem in my '89 except the air would ONLY blow out the foot area. So I took the dash apart and pulled the heater controls out, cleaned them up, put a small amount of white lithium grease on all the pivots, and reinstalled it. I haven't had a problem since.

Re: Dash Blower Controls out of whack
I reciently had to replace the ac climate control unit in my 97 the ac blew through the floor only but every thing else worked if the dampers dont fix the problem then you may check that it seems like it is common in these trucks
