How to fold down 1994 Chevy bench seat

Ok, I know this may sound like a stupid question. I just bought a 1994 standard cab Cheyenne and I don't see a latch to release the seat to make it fold down. I'm trying to keep from having to pull out the seat to find it. All I can find in the owner's manual is how to fold down bucket seats.

The should be a small 1 inch or so tab that comes out where the park that your butt sits on and you back rest on meet. In my old cheyenne, it was not on the drivers side but the passenger side, but then agian half of that truck was a lemon, you did not need to push on the tab to get the seat to lean down

Re: How to fold down 1994 Chevy bench seat

That was the first place I looked because all of the cars I have had, GM of course, were like that. I haven't had a truck in over 10 years and I'm not sure where the release lever on my '84 Silverado was. I thought it was on the end where you are talking about. I just went back out there to look at it really good again, even moved the seat forward but I don't see it. The truck was used as a college campus all around utility vehicle so those meatheads may have broken it off. I will let you know when I find it.

We do have a 96 at work, it does not have a tab that you push, I dont know whats up with it, but you just pull then let off and pull again and it will fold down. I dont know if it is supposed to be like that or the mexicans rigged it up like that?

My 91 bench is easy, just pull it forward twice and it will fold forward. If you don't have all the bolts in, the seat will move and it won't work, it happened to me, I fixed it by putting all the bolts in tight.
