OBS stereo question not found on FSC
I was doing some installing of some interior pieces and saw something that intrigued me. I noticed on the stock chevy OBS stereo where it has "AM", "FM" well under FM it has "WX" on the display. Are there any sotck head units that were made with a WX band?

Probably enabled on export models where people are smarter and know how to use that kind of information. ;) ;)

Re: OBS stereo question not found on FSC
Maybe it was cheaper for Delco to put it on all Units produced.. and then when certain fleet vehicles that needed it could have it activated? thats the only idea that ran into my head?

So how did it work? Did you just switch to that band to see if any weather info was being broadcast?

Re: OBS stereo question not found on FSC
I have seen it in some of our rental trucks and it does work, it isn't in all of them though. Really nice when going thru Nebraska and having a tornado at your back door and not knowing what the hell is going on!!

It worked great just press the band button cycle from fm to wx. Was nice but I degress time to go CD as I cannot find a factory cd setup for the life of me. IIRC from what the local chevy dealer told me is that it is programmed in the the metal radio box (the thing that controls am/fm/cass. and wx features). He also said they were not a popular options mainly consruction trucks, farm trucks (mine), and a few normal people would get this option. This is just what I was told from the dealer.
