do i need more than rammat?

My '98 Sierra's interior rattles like a biotch and im really sick of it. I almost went and traded it in today because it's so annoying to drive with. Anyway my question is, will rammat cure my interior rattles? I don't care about the road noise or anything like that...the truck is lifted so i get some tire noise but i don't care. all i want is to make the panels not vibrate at all.

I was going to buy all new clips for every panel. I was thinking about getting just the generic "christmas tree clips" because they seem to hold tighter than the stupid popper clips that are on the '95-'98 trucks. Plus the generic clips are way cheaper. Second I was going to get the 100sqft of rammat from ebay since it's pretty cheap and I've read a lot of good reviews on it. Will 100sqft be enough to cover the front doors, rear extended cab section, and the back wall? Should I use it on the floor as well? I was also going to use rubberized under coat around all of the holes for the panel clips to make them fit a little tighter. Sound good? Any suggestions? thanks in advance to any thoughts or replies.

The mat will stop panels from resonating, if you want to stop rattles from interior parts as well then put a layer of ensolite over the raamat

Re: do i need more than rammat?

I've never owned or drove a truck without some rattles. I was always told to either turn up the radio or get one powerful enough to drown the rattles out if they bothered me. (it's true but a little joke)

Honestly I'dd think something was wrong of a truck didn't rattle, I'd be waiting for something seriously wrong to happen but that's just me.

I'd say 100 sq/ft should be close if youre able to get the best cuts out of it without much wasted.

that's weird logic. I think all vehicles including trucks should be sturdy and solid so, I believe that the interior noise should reflect that.

anyway, is there a good place or brand to get ensolite from?

Re: do i need more than rammat?

yea, we'll see. i'm going to check it out this weekend. maybe i'll come home with it. this ones got an aftermarket exhaust on it and i just really want to find one that's bone stock because i'm worried about ending up with one that has been really beat on. i figure it's used and chances are that if it's got an aftermarket exhaust, it could have had a tuner on it at some point....so someone could have really been beating on it. plus i'm not sure of the credibility of the dealer it's at either. it looks kind of shady. so i don't think I'm going to buy it from them but I can at least check it out.

Re: do i need more than rammat?

a lot of people put exhaust and chips in them for gas mileage and stuff.. doesnt mean they beat on them.. my fellow firefighters dad puts a chip and exhaust in every truck he drives but he doesnt beat on it

Re: do i need more than rammat?

yea i know, but i also know of a lot people who put tuners on and maxed out the performance settings. the first thing to go on those trucks in that case is the transmission and the last thing I want to do is buy a truck then have to put a $8000 transmission in it a few months later.

Re: do i need more than rammat?

haha...that kind of goes without saying. there's a few duramax for sale around here so i've been doing a little shopping around. i'm sort of planning to buy one within the next few months, but i go back and forth about whether or not I want to take on the payments.
