Re: sas swap ?
Well if it's a K30 you could just take the front and rear axle, have matching 8 lug front and back along with matching factory gears and all you need other than solid axle swap parts is a passenger drop t-case and means of putting it in.

Yup K30 is a 1 ton truck and should have a 60/14 combo. I vote to utilize these axles.

Re: sas swap ?
Best Tcase to use in your truck is a (I believe) 89-91 SUV 241 Tcase. This way it will bolt right up with wiring, just make sure it has a VSS on the tail.

Cut a hole and put in a Blazer or Burban shift assembly on the other side of the hump or build a cable shifter.

Re: sas swap ?
price a 60 lately, plus the cost to rebuild and regear it, a couple hours work swaping a t-case vs 1500 to 2000 bucks. if swaping your t-case is to much work then i dont think you should do a sas, look at my post ( lifting truck where does all this go) im doing a sas right now and it is a hell of a lot of work

Yes you are correct, a fo@# Dana 60 will have the differential on the driver's side which is the same as the drop side on you t-case setup. Easy, Easy, Easy. The problem is that the rest of the world knows this and all want the fo@# Dana 60 as well. The more the demand the higher the price.

Re: sas swap ?

Re: sas swap ?
Fuel injection means it's a V30, not a K30. If it's a 91 the t-case may work if you swap the input gear out to a TH350 27 spline unit and use a TH350/208 adapter IIRC.

In any case it is definitely not a 4L60e, either a TH400, SM465 or 4L80e. All will be a 32 spline output unlike your 4l60e.

Maybe you and your buddy should fix the K30 instead of parting it out.

208 and 241s are Aluminum cases and chain driven. 203 and 205s are gear driven cast iron cases. 205 has a block off plate for PTO output.

Re: sas swap ?
I'd throw the entire K30 drivetrain in if the motor runs well.

Or at least the tranny back.

Re: sas swap ?

would this work with that style t-case and the motor and trans are wore out they got about 450,000 miles on it so the means these axle are getting rebuilt
