Tow hooks with a body lift......
What does everybody do with their tow hooks when they body lift. I know on some trucks you can flip them over and change sides and they will still work. Any one have pics of a body lifted 03-06 truck with the hooks still on?

Re: Tow hooks with a body lift......
you can just cut out notches on bottom of the stock plastic lower valence to make them fit:

you dont have to flip them or anything, hope this helps!

Re: Tow hooks with a body lift......
I fabed my bullbar to still come through the valance in the normal place. I am still thinking about welding some tow hooks under the front end somewhere so I have a nice front tow point.

Re: Tow hooks with a body lift......
I made a bar that bolts up the same as the stock hooks that stick out about and inch, drilled a hole to fit 3/8" chain grab hooks on... I normally leave the hooks out unless I need them (keeps the clean look) similar to frostbites...

Re: Tow hooks with a body lift......

I think they are pretty much the same concept as Frostbites, but i took off the front valance, cause it would have been ripped off during wheeling anyways.

Re: Tow hooks with a body lift......
I welded a shackle to a piece of 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 thick wall tubing and then bolted the tubing to the frame like a stock tow hook does. Used them a couple weeks ago and the old man kept tugging my truck as he towed it and using just one hook they worked fine.
1995 Silverado - Very torquey, fun to drive (see below)
1999 NBS Silverdo - Torque? Never heard of such a thing.

One big advantage of the OBS is that fact that the bottom of the bumper is straight and the valance can be removed without the "something's missing" look. NBS has the different style... there is also a big difference from the Chevy to the GMC (more metal on the sides and lower fog lights on the GMC). After i installed my body lift, I put the bumper back on without the valance... it was only that way for 1 day. I spent several hours taking the bumper and valance off and on and trimming the valance as close as I could to the tow hooks to keep the clean look...
