Full Drop
I noticed on a couple of threads that it states that on full frop kits it requires a new front shaft. Is that normally standard in the kits or is it sold seperately.

More often then not they're sold separately.

That has nothing to do with it AFAIK. The fact that he has a solid front axle probably has something to do with it. His was probably custom whereas the ones for full drop kits are just mass produced.

You need a new front shaft if you have an Autotrac transfer case in any truck up to ~05. Sometime around that point, they switched to a new case that didn't spin the front driveshaft in 2wd.

I'm not talking about the switch here. Sorry if i didn't explain myself. But i meant his shaft was more pricey since it was a heavier duty shaft, unlike the half ton shaft. The NBS shafts are aluminum if im not mistaking. Or the majority are aluminum, and aluminum is expensif. I might be wrong here, and if i am, dont be shy to tell me so.

The front d-shafts are steel. Only the rears on some GM applications are aluminum
