3/4 ton suspension on 1/2 ton
I would like to lift my sierra 1500 2wd using factory parts if possible. i like the height of a stock 2500 2wd with a level kit up fornt. I know the leaf spring in the rear will work but I cant find any info on the front suspension of a 2500. I want to use factory parts for a couple of reasons. a. reliability. b. cheaper sometimes than aftermarket. c. I want to show people how much you can do with GM parts or modifying them. I couldnt find a thread like this anywhere so apology in advance if its somewhere else. Thanks!
I can take anything apart and almost put it back together.

I think it would be cheaper and easier to just but a 2500 personally. But if you have the money and skills you can do anything you want. Nothing is going to bolt up (for the most part) though. The front frame designs are different.

You would have to relocate the cross member for the torsion bars, and most of the parts like mentioned just won't work without mod's.

Just buy a quality lift and you'll be fine.

Re: 3/4 ton suspension on 1/2 ton
First of all, you'll have to replace all of the 1/2 ton IFS with 3/4 ton IFS. And you didn't say what year it is, but if its an OBS or NBS, you've got coil springs, and 3/4 tons have torsion bars, so that would be a lot of work to swap. The rear suspension shouldn't be too difficult to swap though. Also, if you want it to sit like an HD, their frames are different, making them sit 2" higher than a 1500.
But first things first. What year is your truck?

Re: 3/4 ton suspension on 1/2 ton
I have a 05 Sierra ECSB w/5.3. The whole reason for the lift is because I have a camper shell on the back full of tools( its for work) and with the cap on it alomst looks like I dropped the truck. I still want to do more research before I buy anything. Thanks for all the info so far.

Re: 3/4 ton suspension on 1/2 ton
