Re: almost done with lift

cool build, looks good & all, but i'm with greasedog on this one. at minimum i would've put a 14bff in the rear of this thing & had everything 8 lug. i know it won't get wheeled much, but better security not having a c-clip/semifloater axle fly out on you.

i dunno if i'd say testy... and i come across differently through the keyboard than i do in real life. ask anybody who has actually met me or talked to me. i just see a truck with way more money and strength in one end than necessary, only to skimp on the axle that is driven every time the truck is put into gear. i know you agree with it, and i'm sure most others will too.

i dont see anything "unsafe" about it, other than the fact that its a semi floating axle, and if it breaks its coming apart BIG. and the 14FF would've actually been cheaper to build. that said, i've seen plenty of guys running 40s on 14SFs and very few come apart.

it just doesnt make sense to me, like the build wasnt thought out, or whoever set up the drivetrain didnt have the forethought to put it together.

the truck itself looks good, and the suspension looks well thought out. curious to see how it really works.

Wrong choice of words, I know, and most people take the wording different on the computer than in a real life conversation. I do know people you've given advice to and they had nothing but good to say about the advice given by you.

Re: almost done with lift

Most of the guys that have done SAS will try to talk you out of it. It costs alot. Add up the parts then double. Time consuming. Figure about 4 times what you have planned. Headaches. None stop.

Re: almost done with lift

just wrapping up final details, getting bugs out.
had to get a new front drive shaft, but i drove it today, rides very nice, and goes over bumps like they aren't even there.it is exactly how i wanted it.

new exhaust is so quiet while driving, i love it.
