Random three questions Ive come across during my swap:
1 - i got a dana 60 from a SRW diesel 85 F-350 (36.5" spring pad width), and i think it has a 1310 u joint yoke at the pinion - is this correct? if so, should i switch it to a 1350 or 1410? (I've read some posts that say to use those instead) i am having a new driveshaft made anyways, so if I'm going to switch it, now would be the time. (if i should get one, where from?)

2 - Because my truck is a 98 it has metric wheel studs, but the 60 has american threads, so in order to not have two different sets of lugs, i want to switch the studs to make them match - it doesnt matter if their both american or metric, but i have the front apart now, so it would be easier. will studs from a late 90s ford (prior to unit bearings) fit and be the same metric as my chevy? or are there some american studs available to swap into my rear drum braked 14-bolt?

3 - i still can't figure it out - my truck is a 98 K3500 SRW with the 454 and 4L80E - what transfer case does it have? the only thing i could tell from looking under there is that it is a borg warner (im pretty sure). it is shifter on the floor, not pushbutton.

1: 1410s will be the strongest and have the most variation in operating range. though you'll probably be ok with a 1350 or a 1310 depending on your angles.

2: find someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to parts. have them look up studs for both applications compare them BY SIZE, not application. basically the only thing you need is the knurl to be the right size for the axle, and whatever lug thread you want.

I found an oru sas kit on craigslist in my area for $650 i plan on picking it up wednesday but i want to be sure it will work for my truck. it is designed for the 32.5 spring pad width axle but i dont know much else other than its new in box. oru lists kits on their site "for use with oru dana 60" and "for use with ford dana 60". I am using a high pinion heavy duty dana 44 out of a 78 f250. Am i in luck?

if its just the spring hanger kit then it will work, if its also the crossover steering then you need a flat top pass side knuckle and d44 steering arm

you could also use stock gm parts to hang the springs and be far cheaper

or i have a whole running 94 club cab with a sas i built 9 years ago that im cutting up

swap the 14 bolt hubs to older hubs with the 9/16 studs

pound the studs out and put 9/16" studs back in.

has anyone ever taken a chevy front axle and had the tubes filpped in order to use the stock transfer case. because i can get a chevy axle for dirt cheap.

by the time you do everything you need to do to swap the tube lengths to move the diff over youll be way over what you could have just bought a ford axle for, you cant just take them and and switch sides its a bit more involved than that

I'm considering the ORU kit (36.5 for Ford D60)... but when comparing to the other kits available... it seems the others have a crossmember included and the ORU does not.
Does anyone have a good pic of the ORU kit installed or installation in process?

Need some advice. Have a 99 NBS Short bed Z71. I finally found a D60 and bought it. I have the auto crap transfer case and the 4L60E is needing replaced. What if I got a 4L80E w/the transfer case from a NBS 2500 or 3500 and just swapped them out. Could I leave it push button or do I have to run the stick? Which transfer case comes in these trucks? Also, does anyone know what years the 2500/3500 trucks still had rear disks or if they ever had them. I know my 10 bolt has disk brakes but the newer 1500's don't. Thanks

Ok, think I'm gonna pull the trigger on a D44 from 79 F250 with the 1/2" thick tubes. However, the p-side spring perch and other brackets have been removed. Is this gonna be a big deal to get brackets back in place?

hi everybody. i have a 96 ex. cab c2500 2 wheel drive. i'm looking into making it a 4wd. so far i've aquired a divorced style np 205 & a big hub dana 44 with matching 14 bolt ff with 4:10 gears from a 76 chevy 4x4. it also has a 4 inch lift. springs in front & blocks in the rear. i guess my question is, what is the easiest way to get this to work in my 96 truck??? i need it to be a bolt in as i do not weld. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
