Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Hey all, lot of good onfo on here.

I have a lil problem perhaps someone can help me with,
I have an '05 Chevy crew cab dually with an RCD 6" lift, stock size rim's and 315/75/16 BFG AT's with a 2" spacer between the duals. Empty, there is about 1/2" between the tires. I bought a camper and put it on and the duals are touching. Not good. I also pull a 24' TPD and have had no issues just pulling the trailer which puts 950 lbs on the hitch.
Took camper off and am now looking for a 35" tire that is only 11.5" wide, in a load range E or even a D. Cannot locate anything other than the Buckshot Mudders, yet they are only 9.5" wide, are very loud and wear too quickly.
Also, have no clearance issues even when running hard into the Dunes pulling a 9000 lb trailer.

Ok, anybody can help me?
Yeah I know it is dirty, this was the first day without rain in 2 weeks.

used to work at discount tire we had a problem with dually's like that....have you looked at aftermarket wheels??? if you were lower id recomend 255 85 16's 33 1050 or so

315's are closer to a 34 anyway maybe trying a different brand of tire thats narrower...tirerack has a great specs sheet

also how much air are you running in them....the less air the more foot print ...I think that most e or d range you run about 80 psi....maybe bump it up a little....discount tire wont work on spacers....
1993 chevy 2 door blazer 4x4 silverado edt.

flowmaster duals
285 bfg's on newer z71 chromies

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
I have a 2000 4.8 Regular Cab, Long Bed Silverado 4x4. I just recently put 285/75/16's on the truck. It rides good, but I want to throw some 33x12.50's on there. Am I able to put them on the truck with stock suspension as long as I crank the torsion bar all the way up or am I gonna have to get a 3" body lift and then see if there's any torsion bar adjustments from there? Thanks.

Lots of great info, unfortunately could not find what I was looking for.

I have a 2005 1500HD 4 door and was wondering if I can put 285/75/16 without any mods?

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Hey, I've got 2" blocks in rear suspension and cranked the torsion bars all the way to level it out and a 3" body lift. So, basically it's a 5" total lift. I've got 17x9 rims. Whats the biggest tires i can fit without rubbin?
2004 Silverado 2500HD Duramax
Cold Air Intake
4" exhaust with 5" chrome tip
Edge Juice with Attitude
Hopefully more to come!

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Nice list if I am reading that list right i have a 97 Tahoe at stock height i could go with 32's. If that is correct i could just go with 31's like i wanted to. I would be getting 15x8 rims.

Thanks.

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
I'm ready to buy same new tires next week. I would like to install 305/70/r16 on an all stock 4wd obs Tahoe, but not sure if it's going fit with out rubbing. But, if it's little triming I will go for it. I'm wondering if there is anybody who has GFgoodrich all terrain tires and 305 tire sizes on their obs truck or suv right now and can provide me with few pictures. If not I'll just go for 285/75/r16. THanks

Thanks superlite, how did it ride after the torsion bars? Was it a hard ride or wasn't not much of different? Anybody else have any suggestions. Thanks

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
ok guys, I am lookin into buy a 96 chev, 4WD. The question is, can you do a simple front end lift of about in inch using the torsion bars just to level out the front rear height? My dad lifted the front of his truck an inch or so using the torsion bars, just to level out the height. So my question really is, does this truck have torsion bars, and is it possible to do this on this truck? How hard is it? I did it on my friens Nissan hardbody, and it was just a simple adjustment. Is it nearly the same? Sorry about my non-knowledge in this department.... any help would be great!
Thanks-

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Hey guys, I just got my 96 chev 4 by 4. I got some 35's on 16 inch rims yesterday for a killer deal. I am going to crank the bars up in the front, will these new wheels and tires fit? If I have to do some trimming I am fine with that, just want the nice look. I will be doing a 3' body lift soon, but just want that beefy stance for now.
