Cool Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Okay It probably has already been covered but I am going to ask anyways. I have a stock '03 1500HD 4x4. I would like to level it and put the larget size tire possible without rub. I do not want to trim. I am not very mechanically inclined so I will be taking it to a shop to get the work done. What do you think would give me the best combination of functionality and look? Eventually I want to run 315's and a 6" suspension lift but that will have to wait until the bdget allows. so for now what do you all think would be best. THanks for the info..

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radials
LT325/50R20 33X13.50R20LT

I have a 3" BL with torsion bars cranked and 2" blocks in the rear.
I'm currently running 33 X 12.5 R16 on 10" wide rims. It doesn't rub but it is very close.

Am I going to run into rubbing issues by going to the 13.5" wide tire compared to the 12.5" wide. on the same size rim.

How can I prevent this? Larger or smaller wheel offset?

TIA

i have a 88 scottsdale 4x4, sitting stock on 305/70/r16. with 16x10 centerline offroad racing wheels, and going

to put a 6" suspension lift, and 315/75/r16's under it. what brand do you all think i should get. i've been

looking at the rough country 6" lift.

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Just to check, if I did 3 inch blocks in the rear, ford keys and crank up front, and throw 35's under it, I'd be good to go correct?

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
I'll be redeploying from Iraq in december, and have plans to get a 2008 silverado,4wd. I have begun doing research on what i want to fix it up. My intent is to lift it, w/ 6" susp lift. appropriate sized BFG A/T's. I'm not familiar with all the brands and specifics. It will be a daily driver, look great but also have what it takes to handle some muddin' on the weekends. i don't expect a full "how to" response, but i could really use some do's and dont's. the last thing I wanna be is "that guy"

Any suggestions about the rims, normal vs offset?

i was advised that the z71 package wd suffice if i don't plan on doing any the "rough stuff".

Yeah, I'm the new guy so feel free to throw all the "new guy" jokes at me.
I've got a million questions, but Ive got another 10 months to put it altogether.

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
I'm going to do the 3" block and green key lift. I have 285's on 16x8's with 4.5" backspacing and zero rubbing. I want to run either 33x12.50, 33x13.50, 34x10.50, 35x10.50, or 35x12.50's. Would I have any chance to run any of these with the above rims, or am I better off to throw on the 3" body lift at the same time? I also have the stock steelies if that matters. Thanks!

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
i have an 00 sierra 1500, i currently have stock rims with 285/75/16s on the truck, i have no rub at all. i didnt need to crank by torsion bars up any but i did anyways to help level it up some. Im thinking abt buying either 17 or 18 inch rims, whats the biggest tire i can run on them without any rub?

i had 305/70/16 (33/12.50) under my truck when it was stock with 16x10 rims and all i had to do was cut a little of my air dam off at the bottom corners. you shouldn't have any problems with any of those sizes with a 3" lift. imo
