This site will provide you with some help on an NBS truck. Other than that, try searching Bodylift on the forums. Basic handtools...power/air tools make the job simpler, faster, and easier.

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Im sure everyoen already knows this already, but with a fabtech 6" susp. lift, with just 16x10" rims, 35" tires, rubs liek crazy even under turning on or off road. I have a very shredded and unhappy toyo off read tire that is wearing the scars. The best thing i did to fix teh problem which worked, was cut notches in the front bumper and cut the fender out alittle. It works well not and not had any problems afterwards. Just tryin to save someone soem money, everyone knows by now, tires aren't cheap!
Yep, it's big but it will get bigger with time! LOL.

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
The biggest problem I've noticed, is with the 10" rims, if you drop to 8's those rubbing problems almost totally disappear.

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
Hey guys, I am new to this forum, this thread came up when I was doing a Google search about lifting my truck. I am planning to lift my truck soon. It's a 97 7Z1 1500 Ext. Cab shortbed. Currently running stock rims, 275/70 BFG ATs that rub when offroading. Anyways, I was going to run a 6 inch suspension lift all the way around. I was thinking about RCD, anyone have pros, cons, or a good alternative? I wanted to run 35x12.50 BFG MTs on 18x10 rims with 4.5inch backspacing. Will I have rubbing issues? And I feel kind of lame for asking, but what does the rim height have to do with rubbing issues? Like, say instead I ran 16x10s with the same backspacing with the same size tires, would I have the same problems that I would with the taller rims? Thanks for the advise ladies and gents, this seems like a great forum, I might stick around. I am a regular over at Chevy Talk. Oh yeah, I am in Pasadena, I don't know I saw some of you talking about Dena earlier. Thanks again folks.

Re: Common Lift/Tire Combo's for OBS/NBS Trucks & SUVs
I just ordered 315/75/16 for my '02 2500HD. i have no lift. i cranked my t-bars all the way and got 2 inches. i trimmed a ton of plastic and took it down to discount tire and had them mount a BFG AT on my stock wheels. squeezed them in. cranked the wheel both ways trimmed a lil more. they looked awsome but i wanted Nitto Terra Grapplers instead so now i'm waiting for them. The 1st discount tire store i went to refused to even try the 35's on there, so i just called around till i found one that would humor me and mount them so i could see. I was told by someone on here, that has them, that the mud tires occasionally rub on the suspension bar so i got some AT's.(dont have the huge side lugs) I'm getting them on tomorrow. i'll post pics so you all can see how i crammed them on there. the only way i think they could rub is if i hit bumps with the wheel fully cranked, but that wont happen too much i dont think.
