i've looked into a few kits for them, if he he ready to drop down some serious cash he can get a plenty big lift, otherwise he should settle for like the 3 inch or 2 inch ones at jcwhitney.com

The reason you can't body lift them is becaue they are unibody, not a car, I sell plenty of grand cherokee lifts, if he wants to go 6"s he's going to have to go with Rubicon Express or Rock krawler 7" long arm kit.

6" lift kits for GCs are very expensive, though. I believe that they are on a par with IFS lifts in cost.

Does it have a full-time T-case?

I think that GCs with the fulltime T-case have problems with lifts over 3" with the angles of the constantly-spinning driveshaft.

I have heard that not even a new driveshaft will fix the problem, and that a NEW HIGH-PINION AXLE is the only true fix.
The Cherokees have HP D30s, how about the GCs?

I really don't know for sure.

I own a lifted grand and have built several, you can use the frontend but must do away with the vicous couple front shaft and go to a tom woods shaft and pinion yoke. The rock crawler 7 inch is by far the best big lift for the grands. You can clear 35s with some trimming with the 7inch rock crawler kit.hope i helped ya.
