I have seen that happen on 10/12 bolts, but never a 14 bolt. Take about "wide track" ...lol

No, we doubled back and picked up tools from home. I took it apart there and put it back together.

Quite often you'll find better traction outside the tracks. Wow. That is a killer Blazer though!

^eww

did you need to get a new shaft or can you still stick your old one back in there? did you see it happen thats actually kinda scary if you think about it. it could of happened at 70 mph on the highway

i would hate to have been working on that to get it worthy again and then have that happen, but its all in the fun when your building something, something has to give or be tweaked.

That shaft still fits in there and works. I didnt see it happen, I just took a sharp turn, which made it come out. Then someone stopped me. It sucks that I just got it going, but like you said, at least it didnt happen on the road. I was able to fix it pretty quick. I filled up the air compressor and dragged it out there in a buddys truck and had air tools on the trail.

Re: todays fun

wow, that coulda sucked a lot worse! i'm with the other guy who said they'd never seen that on a 14-bolt. but there's a first time for everything. at least one of your pals were "on it" and stopped you. that really says something about those 14b axle shafts that it held up under that stress and didn't bend. gotta get 1-tons under my K5!

i saw it happen to the same car at the drag strip twice in one night, first time was off the line maybe 40 mph, second was about half track at 90, not pretty.
