Re: New Forum for 2WD offroaders
They were easy to install. You only have to take the caliper, tie rod, and the big top and botton nuts off. Then just take out all of the componenets such as the wheel bearing and rotor and put it on the new one. I did the alignment on it myself right after i put it on and it should really go to a shop for a better alignment but for now its ok. Swaybar mounts are still where they were. The only thing i had to do was just take the old spindle off and replace it with a new one. My shocks are trashed so the rollover is probably due to them.

-Alignment easy
-Loose the sway bar especially if you offroad.
-Spindle is the best way to lift your vehicle.

Re: New Forum for 2WD offroaders
Your front suspension works completly independent with the removal of your front sway bar. Offroad improvement increases and irregular road ride improves etc. Yes, you sacrifice some body roll but if rough terrain and rough roads is a common accurance its 100% worth the small increase in body roll.

Re: New Forum for 2WD offroaders
im also wondering about this, because i may be interested in removing my sway bar also. although most of my driving is highway, i do like to hit some mud. but i drive around 300 miles a week pure highway so i cant sacrifice safety.

Re: New Forum for 2WD offroaders
Highway, if your going straight you wont notice any difference unless you hit uneven pavement and the truck ride smoother. If you start to swerve or turn you will notice more body roll. Its really simple.

Disconnect your sway bar and go for a drive, it takes 15 minutes to do. The decision depends on if you like it disconnected or not and your driving style. The ride is 10x better without it over uneven surfaces, but may not been for everyone.

Re: New Forum for 2WD offroaders
the sway bar just pushs the inside tire down when going around a high speed or high angle turn ... without bushing in my truck it drove fine and not a safety hazard but with new poly bushings i can get on the expressway going around the onramp about 40-45 and accelerate to about 60 at the top with minumale tire slid... the bars help going around fast turns and usually thru hard turns back and forth... the concept is to get some of the qualities of a solid axle back with out losing the benefit of independent wheel travel...

Re: New Forum for 2WD offroaders
so basicly if u ride more on the smooth road leave it on and if u really want to do some serious offroading it is 6 bolts and it off and when your done 6 bolts and its back on 15 to 20 minutes for a 2wd and dont ask about a 4wd i will never do another ... just so u know i have done mine twice with different bushings ...

Re: New Forum for 2WD offroaders
I removed my swaybar and dont miss it at all...Driving normal, and not like a dink,I can barely notice the extra bodyroll.I really only took it off at first because I busted an end link bolt, and it was easier to take it off than to replace the end link kit, ended up liking the look without it,and the bodyroll isnt an issue,so it stays off.
