Body Lift Question
I have a 1990 C1500 305 4speed and I'm going to get a 3 inch body lift and 31-10.50's because I can't afford spindle's right now and could use a little extra clearince off road. I though I seen someone say that the Summit and Preformance Accessories one's are the same? I work my truck at times hard will the nylon block's under the box crush down under a load of wood/gravel? Also I wouldn't have to lengthen my clutch line where it has so mutch slack in the flex hose would I?

Re: Body Lift Question
Yeah, the Summit and PA kits are the same, just different packaging.
The clutch line should be fine, and the blocks are strong, so they won't break if you haul a lot of weight. My body lift is still doing fine. I don't really know of anything that could go wrong because of a body lift though. Re: Body Lift Question
honestly if i were you i would save up and pick up some spindles from rough country. There like 289 for the 4" spindles. Check my gallery and you can see what just the spindles look like.

Re: Body Lift Question
my PA body lift just came today. The components are very well made and the blocks are top quality. It would be pretty hard to cause any damage to them.
I also have the RC lift spindles, full kit was $500 shipped. You should just get them, it's a lot easier to install and leaves lots of room for the 31's |

Re: Body Lift Question
as far as i know the pa and summit are the same. i just did one on my '98 k2500. they come w/bed supports so u can still use the bed under heavy load, too.
i just posted a thread on my kit... http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/...lift-pics.html i know this doesn't answer everything but i hope it helps somewhat.

ok well for starters the body lifts don't really do anything as far as ground clearance. They just allow you to run a larger tire by lifting the body of the truck up off the frame rails more. The spindles move the hub down the 4" giving you more ground clearance in the front and also allowing you to run a larger tire. You can also run a larger block in the rear to level her out. I ran 265 75 15 tires on my truck stock and due to the huge sag they rubbed when fully locked. I ran the same size tire after the spindles and never had any rubbing issues. The front sag was so bad that the 4" spindles just about leveled my truck. Bottom line is that for the price of the body lift you can put the spindles on and achieve a much more functional set up. You can even run the body lift and the spindles when you have enough saved and have about 7" of lift. She would be sitting nice.

If you do make sure you run the brake lines behind the spindles so they will be long enough. The total install only takes a couple hours

Re: Body Lift Question
33s on stock wheels on no lift FTMFW
![]() Only thing you should worry about with a bodylift is that the steel cab mounts and floor on your truck are in good shape...Ive had a floor collapse over a bodylift but the truck wasnt in good shape. Id go BL personally, infact I wish I still had BL only and 285/75/16s,dont get me wrong, the lift spindles are great, but if you dont want your wheels sticking out further than stock, stay away from them. I personally think (know) you can fit bigger tires with a 3" BL than 4" spindles, but you cant beat the ground clearance of the spindles ![]()

Re: Body Lift Question
My cab's like new I'm thinking hard abought geting the bodylift and 31's or 32's atleast the bigger tires before fall. What I mainly need a little more ground clearince for is hunting and geting around the wood's to ower woodlot's. I cheaked real quick the other day and I forget the height but my 1990 C1500 on 235's the rear axle is abought 1 inch lower than dad's 85 K1500 on 31x10.50's I never thought to cheak the fron't of myne but I would like too be able to take myne where dad's truck can go.
