Re: The truck is about to transform
Stock shocks will be fine spindles dont change anything in suspension travel just moves the hub down to give you lift.
2005 EXT Silvy currently 4/6 McGaughys drop on 20" Centerlines.
Coming Soon: 5" lift on stock wheels with 33" tires. |

Re: The truck is about to transform
I got the pass side spindle done. Ima do the drivers side in a bit then do the blocks tomorrow. Spacers are gonna go in at a later date when I have an extra set of hands. Can I squeeze 285/70/17 on the stock rims with just the 3/2 RC kit

Re: The truck is about to transform
Yeah you can, kit is designed for 285's.
I got both spindles done, doing the blocks tomorrow and spacers Tuesday. I'm having some brake line issues and my truck is terribly out of alignment. Anybody have a picture of how they ran their brake lines with this setup? I'm in desperate need of help. I zip-tied them to the UCA, but they're still rubbing and it scares the piss out of me.

Re: The truck is about to transform
I ran mine behind the spindle and then the line going to the hub I ziptied to the UCA and have no issues. I got the spindles done. Woulda been a lot quicker if I didnt have to deal with putting the stock coils back in or going and finding the 3rd hub bolts for each side since the hubs mount differently on the drop spindles than they do on the lifted and stock ones. I got some serious Cali kickin right now. my rear is 7" lower than the front!

Re: The truck is about to transform
Going out today to take off the flip kit and put the rear blocks in. I must say the RC shocks up front suck! first set of shocks Ive had to pull the shaft out, most just spring out at ya. Glad I didnt plan on running them long. If I have time after the rear I may try to put a compressor on the coils while everything is still bolted up and throw the spacers on top of the coils. Woulda done it yesterday but i had to get the drop coils out first.

Re: The truck is about to transform
Well I found a deal I couldnt pass up on tires. I liked the Cooper STTs because of the aggressiveness off the tread and the wear of them plus they were $900 shipped to my door. Well I searched around and found a set of brand new Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs for $870 shipped to my door. They are factory blems but I dont care about if the lettering is correct.

Re: The truck is about to transform
I'm pretty sure I'm going to do my rear blocks either today or Monday.
My truck has a lot of positive camber right now and is making a bad whirring sound starting at 30 mph, so I'm going to try and not drive it as much as I can until I can take it to the dealer and get it aligned.

Re: The truck is about to transform
My alignment didnt get thrown off too bad. The drivers side has a bit of pos camber and toe in the pass side is perfectly straight lol. Ill get mine aligned after I get the coil spacers in. Im on bald ass stock tires right now so Im not too worried about driving it out of alignment.

Re: The truck is about to transform
Yeah same for me, the driver's side seems to be the bad side.
I'm going to do my coil spacers on Monday, so hopefully it will be all done and aligned by Tues afternoon and I can get some pictures up.

Re: The truck is about to transform
Got the blocks done today. I think every person should have to take a flip kit off with 2 jack stands and 1 jack all by themselves! Builds character, I know it made me say more than a few choice words. Got the rear all said and done. Front shocks are being swapped out for stockers in the morn. Bushings dissenegrated on the lower shock mount and the tires do not stay planted cuz the shocks give no downward force. Feels like Im riding on coils and no shocks. truck sits waay up higher than it did Friday morning. I enjoy it, dont think Ill be doing the spacers for now since I already have some Cali. Once I get the MTZ's on Ill decide if I want to go a bit higher or not.

Re: The truck is about to transform
I had an awful time with the blocks today and now I can't get the darn axle realigned in the back. I really needed another jackstand and extra pair of hands. Looks like I'm going to have to take my truck somewhere to get them to align the front AND rear wheels...
I've had nothing but problems really, between the tough LCA balljoints, forgetting to route the brake lines behind the spindle, to those darn bolts on the stock leaf springs and not being able to get my axle aligned its been a helluva couple of days. I'm really thinking about not going with the spacers. I want to get my truck aligned tomorrow and the spacers won't be here until Monday afternoon, I wouldn't feel safe driving it above 40 mph right now. The truck does look great however. Love the new height!

Re: The truck is about to transform
I know what you mean about the extra pair of hands and extra jack stands. I had a hell of a time manuevering my axle around. I had to flip mine from on top of the leaf springs back underneath em. Not an easy task to do by yourself. There isnt much play in the brake lines

Re: The truck is about to transform
Looks real good bud. My truck is down at the alignment shop. I left it down there overnight so they can get everything straight first thing in the morning.
Should have pics up if not tomorrow the next day. What size block did you go with?
