08 Silverado tire size options
Alright Ive been doing lots of checking online and figured I'd just ask cause every place I go gives me different answers lol . I have a 2008 Silverado 2WD . I want to get the biggest tire I can under it with out going to extreme with a lift . Im looking at leveling kit up front and maybe blocks for the rear . Can I get 35's on there or am I stuck with smaller 33's ? Im going to go no bigger than 18's for the wheels and it'll see no offroad . Its all for looks

Re: 08 Silverado tire size options
You're stuck with 33"s if all you want is like the CCM 2.5" spacers

Re: 08 Silverado tire size options
I figured 33's are about it . I wish I could find a cheap set or knew someone local with them to try on the truck . I know the previous model dodges clear 33's stock and people said the same thing about needing a leveling kit for them to clear 33's . So I cant help but wonder if the same is true with the new chevy's . Just quickly looking at tire sizes I see on discount tires site that if I went with a 295-35-24 it come out to a diameter of 32.12" and ready lift said I could run a 285-65-18 tire which is 32.58" diameter . So theres about a half inch difference in the 2 . Which is about the same difference between the largest option factory size and the 285-65-18 . I might be totally off base with this but just looking at the numbers it seems like it might work out .

Re: 08 Silverado tire size options
if you can run a 16" wheel, i'll sell you my current set of 285/75-16's for cheap.

Re: 08 Silverado tire size options
cant run 16s, 33s are the biggest u can run, watch out for offset though, too much on the wheel and you'll have to cut and trim metal, i did, they fit and i love them, 325-60-18s, WITH a leveling kit, ready lift 2.25 but if u get the last half inch you'll clear a little more than me, its do able, just a little work.

Thanks I thought about it lol . I know the 35's arent going to fit . I wish they would but I know they wont . I just happened to be bored and started looking at the numbers and my logic said that if I can put a 32.12" on there without a leveling kit then I might be able to squeeze a 32.58" . Like I said I used to put 33's on dodges without any leveling kits and people all said you could . So once again my logic said if its possible for one brand it could be possible for another .

Yeah I know . Like I said its my logic lol . I figure if I can run 33's without a leveling kit then Im good . I want to lift this truck pre runner style but right now it aint going to happen . So till I can Im trying to get it looking decent . Plus I have a little over 16K miles on it and the tires are really wearing down on me . I have some junk general tires on there from the factory . Ive hated them from day one . So I figure its a good excuse to upgrade after the tires are fully shot . I, hoping to get to at least 25K with them

If I can get 33's without the leveling kit then thats all Im going to do if not then yeah just the leveling kit and 33's for now . I got to get a job before I do any of it lol . As far as I know NJTS is no more . Everyone went over to http://www.gardenstateminis.com/phpBB3/index.php . I go on every so often but I just dont like the look of the site . It's not as nice as NJTS was .

Re: 08 Silverado tire size options
You won't clear them very well without the leveling kit, plus the new trucks have like 10" of rake from the factory. Might as well get rid of some of it lol

Re: 08 Silverado tire size options
Mine isnt too horrible with the rake . Its the tiny tires I got that make it look stupid . I wanted the bigger tires but this truck had all the other options I wanted and fit my budget so 245-70-17's it is lol . I only have 2 things I dont like on the truck . The wheels and tires and the stupid a$$ wiper blades lol .

I dont like paying $20 each for them lol . CHrysler was using them on their stuff but at least they had the normal J hook style wiper arms so you could put normal blades on if you wanted . THe new stupid arms GM used seem to limit the brands to the expensive ones lol .
