building custom A-arms

Hey guys, I'm part of the mini baja team here at Pittsburg State University. For this years car i am incharge of designing our from A arms. We need ideas on what to use for a ball joint. We have tossed around the idea of a small car tie rod end with male threads. But, from what we have found they would not give us enough travel. We want something that can be screwed into an insert in the end of the A arm. This will give us some adjustability. So does anyone know of a ATV or something that has this type of ball joint? If you have ideas shoot them at me.

A lot of quads use the ball joint you're describing. Check out some of the aftermarket a-arm companies, they sell replacement ball joints. Do a search on ATVRiders.com. Remember you want your bottom a-arm mount to be as close to the middle of the frame as possible.
