Re: swapping from a NBS 4.3 to a V8
had to turn you off "ignore" to see what you posted i love that option
Update? V6 is out...i don't know if the V8 is stabbed yet. ran into a few slight speed bumps, nothing serious. the completion date is set at this Sat.

Cool, curiosity was killing me, so I figured others would want to know too.

Re: swapping from a NBS 4.3 to a V8
update?
well...due to SPE (i think that's the company) sending the wrong part with the new fuel rail, the truck didn't get finished by Sat. When i left sat, it looked like everything was gonna get dropped in and running either that day or Sunday. So it should be a matter of getting the exhaust laid out now.
if it wasn't for that one little part....

It will all be worth it. As much as I love driving this Sub every day I miss driving my truck. I can't drive this boat near as hard as my truck.

Re: swapping from a NBS 4.3 to a V8
update - the part that was wrong was a fuel-rail fitting, and it was from S&P, sister company to SPE. not a problem though, I have gone to all AN compression fittings and we've tested the system to 120 psi on both feed and return. we had to convert from the dead-head style fuel rail that came with the 01 LS1 we're using to a return-style to match the fuel system in the truck, with a new adjustable regulator for future engine upgrades. the engine is in and all the wiring finished, except for the fan setup and some modifications to the starter-kill (thanks a lot J ). I have to finish some cleanup with harness routing and get everything put back together, mount the fans, assemble the new WSM cai, finish the a/c lines and get it charged, build the dual exhaust, and then get it on the dyno ad make sure the computer is sorted out. the good news is, we fired it last night - after blowing out all the crap that has settled in it for over a year and burning in the headers, it settled into a nice easy idle with no hiccups. timing looks good, temp looks good, plugs look good - Ill offer some more once I get it completed, tuned, and street-tested
