Re: the BEAST awakes.... its ALIVE....
What year is the truck? The accessories under the hood look like the 96+ style, but the A/C compressor and alternator positions are of the 95 and older TBI style...is this a TBI setup? im confused

Re: the BEAST awakes.... its ALIVE....
Let us know how the cam works. My cam is still too lame up top yet it does pull very well considering the cams low rpm operating range.

yes, its a 95... last year of the TBI. it confuses alot of people... i just tell them its a 99... lol I got some nice footage of it running today.. Im in the process of getting things posted.. but for now here you go..
todays pics...
another...
now this is what feeds 8 cylinders w/ vortec heads and a beastly cam, w/ 3.75 stroke... a walbro 255 is in the tank, and fpr is modded.. it has a 1" tbi spacer, .25 injectors spacer, .25 carb to tbi spacer, modded tbi ported, mounted to a cyclone intake...

Re: the BEAST awakes.... its ALIVE....
What kind of intake is that exactly? is it just a carb intake for the Vortec heads with a TBI adapter?

Re: the BEAST awakes.... its ALIVE....
Damn....I want a 383. Bad. I currently have 230k miles on my 350 vortec with nothing more than a slow oil leak. Knock on wood. I need to start reseaching this project so i can take my time. I envy you.

That would be a vortec to either square of spread bore carb intake. I am using one very similar to that I got off ebay for 120 shipped. For an adapter I'm using the early style 454 TBI to spread bore adapter plate with the coolant passage in it to heat it during the winter. I'll get some pics this weekend.

cool, pics are good
So which is better to use, a carbed intake with TBI adapter plate or the TBI Vortec intake?

Re: the BEAST awakes.... its ALIVE....
that motor has some pretty nice specs...should be quite the beast...you should film some "ride-along" footage when you get it all setup...

Highrise Carbed Vortec intake with a carb-TBI adapter and a 2" bore TBI is the way to go.
