Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
I am so in, i figured that i was just going to have to splurge and get the ram jet intake from gm, but if Edelbrock makes this i am so in!

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
As always I'm a little late but the weight savings of an aluminum intake over the heavy marine version would be nice. I'm up for the bolt on version.

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
i have asked edlebrock on many occasions if there is any plans to build a manifold like this. i have a 98 k2500 with a 7.4L. MPFI and they stated there is not enough demand for this two piece manifold and there is no plans to build one. It would be great if they would being the lower intake manifolds are hard to find with no pitting in them.

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
Any new info? I have to replace my intake gaskets this spring anyways and if they made this intake i would definatly buy one to throw on there (i can never have enough power).

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
this might have been said before , but why couldnt you use a aftermarket manilfold that has nitrous bosses in it perferably a square bore one,cut out a adapter plate to attach throtle body.

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
one that has nitrous bosses, but put fuel injectors in there place, and go to scrap yard and pull fuel rail and stuff off another motor,

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
i like the edelbrock idea, i don't know why they wouldn't do it. man, i'd make the kit and have mass produced if i had the dough to invest.

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
I'd really like to have another, easier choice than the marine intake or keep replacing OEM manifolds/gaskets/ spiders. It seems like the OEM setup is the most problematic part of the engine in these trucks.

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
I am in. Has anybody done a google search about custom intake manifold. I ran across one about 5 years ago and asked them if they could since they build intakes from stratch but they told me there was no demand for it. Edelbrock, if you dont do it, another company will and you will lose all that money that could have been yours. oh well your lose, another company's gain

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
Marine Intake or swap to a 4.8/5.3/6.0/6.2/8.1 IMO
Where I live I see 5.3's with low mileage for less than $2000 complete with acc, computer, intake. A company that builds an intake for these trucks is going to want atleast $1300 for it. Then you gotta throw in a tune and you up to $1500 or more. You can build a marine intake for less than that, and is worthwhile.
Yes earlier in the thread I was all for this, but with 2 more generations of trucks out I dont see them making a manifold for the 5.7 Vortec.

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
If this ever happened I'd be interested.
I would preffer Aloicious' intake manifold over the marine.

Re: Gauging interest for aftermarket spider>MPFI conversion manifold
I find it strange that they make every other type of intake setup (TPI, TBI, Carb) adaptable to the Vortec heads, but don't offer any bolt-on intake options for the vehicles that had these heads from the factory
