i was just on the whole gota switch to a carb kick, but you should do some research. the tbi itself isnt whats bad, its your crappy cam and heads that come on a tbi motor that sucks, no carb is going to fix that. the induction system of a tbi isnt what gives the tbi its bad name in having so little power, a carbed tbi motor is still a tbi motor, same crappy tbi heads, same wimpy cam...

Re: 90 454SS vs 94 Lightning - TrucksTV
i saw the newest episode today...the 454 is going to look freakin awsome. I love the amount of drop they used and the wheel and tire combination...i'm thinkin about the same setup.

Re: 90 454SS vs 94 Lightning - TrucksTV
that lightening looks lame sitting next to the ss lol. that thing is looking REALLY nice. imo, no mater who wins, it really says something about the trucks that the lightening needed forced induction to compete with the 454 naturally aspirated... imagine if the 454 had a turbo! it wouldn't even be a competition.

I've got plans for a set of aluminum vortec heads, and comp cams top end kit, and i wanna get my block stroked out to a 383, i just want to swap to a carb setup so that i can do this stuff gradually rather than having to wait and get everything together at once and then get a chip burned, this way i can do the cam kit, tune the carb myself...etc
heres what i'm looking at...

Re: 90 454SS vs 94 Lightning - TrucksTV
they did a 3/4 and took out the overload spring. but it looked lower on the show. I think it would look better leveled but that's just me. They put caltracs on it and I think the bracket put about an inch lift back in it.

I actually don't mind the look of those trucks when they're done right. I thought it looked pretty sharp.

Werd.
And whats up with no drag racing? No insurance? Thats ghey. Go to some track on a Friday night, pay your $15 and put a pass or 2 on each truck. At least get a timeslip for each truck for comparison. I'm choked that they didnt race each other.
peace

Re: 90 454SS vs 94 Lightning - TrucksTV
You guys are probably going to give me a lot of grief for this but, isn't kind of embarrassing for chevy that it takes a 454 big block to compete with a 351 ford small block???
Just my opinion and you'll probably disagree.
You would be thinking right, I am a FORD guy.

considering that either truck would get their ass whipped by a V6 powered Syclone, I don't see your point I'm not even going to say anything about the 4.6 and 5.4s, the jokes make themselves about those boat anchors.
