If it was an all naturally aspirated motor build-up, the Chevy would win hands down. Meanwhile to remain somewhat remotely competitive, the Ford needs a little boost.

Stock for stock, yeah. That 454 is a joke, but so is the fact that it takes a 351HO to keep up with that unnecessarily restricted 454 with 7.8:1CR. Is that something worth bragging about? Mod for mod that 454 will hand the Ford it's ass, guaranteed. Let's not forget now that the 454 is breathing, the Ford needs boost to keep up. There's no replacement for displacement. ![]()

Re: 90 454SS vs 94 Lightning - TrucksTV
Those BASTARDS, they used the exact same 18" Torq Thrust IIs on the 454 I picked out for my truck 3 years ago. Oh well, they look awesome. And my truck will have a MUCH better stance.

Re: 90 454SS vs 94 Lightning - TrucksTV
the 454 need less rake, that looks kinda bad with like 3" difference. still, words cant even describe how much more sporty it looks then the lighting. not that the lightning looks bad, it just looks like a poor attempt at the street truck scene, its so freaking big and bulky looking.

Re: 90 454SS vs 94 Lightning - TrucksTV
its not that the lightening is big and buly, they are both big trucks. its that the ss has much smoother body lines, and just an overall better looking truck, the ford is just not sporty looking that year. that body style ford looked good lifted, thats it...
