this thread is not to argue the pros and cons against pulling the 4.3 for a larger V8. it's to give information to 4.3L owners that would like to modify thier current engine. if you'd like to start a debate of pulling a 4.3L for a 350, by all means, start a new thread. i'll be happy to post my opinions in it.

i hope that you are planning on getting only about 8psi out of it if you are boosting at 15, turbo lag is a more than operative word, you should ask some shops if they could match or beat that price, and an intercooler would be a good thing to... engine longevity and more hp. |

They make 'em for the 4.8 and 5.3. I called about the 4.3, but I have yet to hear back from them. |

The same kit for the 4.8 and 5.3 will work on the 4.3 with little modification.

the fact is...it's going to be difficult for anyone with a V6 to up and buy a kit like that without proof that it will install easily.

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
The only change that will have to be made is where the intake hooks up to the throttle body. Nelson Performance carries the tune for the V6.

Not really a power mod, but it'll help your times if you have a manual:

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
Nice thread..
Significant gains are to be had with stall converter (3,000rpm+), comp 266hr/270hr cam, head work, and some traction aids. Or a blower of course. Combined with a comp cam and some stage II heads your looking at near 400rwhp. ![]()

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
I run another site based on the S10 truck and have been for awhile working with a few manufacturers on 4.3 ideas. One is complete, a Wynjammer S/C for the 4.3 truck that runs $2395 with programming, it nets 67 RWHP and is a simple addon that takes 4 hours. NO FMU or the likes!
Within the next month we should be getting the final word on a new intake from AFI. Predeterminded base ideals was it to make 10-15 h.p. on a stock platform truck and allow the changing of the injectors as need. $1500 was a target price number and looks to be doable. It'll have a seperate piggy back controller for running the injectors. I'll keep you up to date and information becomes available but for those who want to follow it closer and talk to those who have used the Wynjammer and the AFI intake when it does become available, www.sicgmtrucks.com !! |
