Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
Underdrive pulley has more noticable gains than the throttlebody.... but the throttlebody is good for throttle response more power with less throttle. I'd suggest both. Everything, all at once
Ok... so what exactly is the allowable sig size? It doesn't say it anywhere in "edit signature" in User CP

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
How did your Hypertech work out chip/programer??
The CFM-Tech throttle body worked very well, no problems with idle or shifting, increased throttle responce, feels like stronger. Will dyno when I have a chance. mjbell1 "Blacky" 2005 Chevrolet Silverado V6 4.3L MSD 6A Ignition, Coil, Cap/Rotor, 8.5mm Wires K&N Cold Air Package, Cat-Back Dual Exhausts CFM Tech. There are better products for less $$, look at wait4me mail order tune. The hypertech is good for on the fly changes of tire size, or rear gears. Where as a mail order tune you'd be waiting. But Hypertech doesn't remove torque managment, or doewnstream o2's if you need, Just two generic comp tunes for 87 or 93 octane If you really want full control, HPtuners. Thats my next step, my own computer tune.

I have pretty much the same adders as you minus the NOS, e-fans, and 4.10s, have you taken yours to the track? I am wanting to do the rear end next, how difficult is it? Also, is there a noticable difference with the e-fan and rear-end? Thanks |

Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
CFM-Tech throttle body was last addition, very clean part, installed, no lights, idled well and gave increased throttle response. Needs to visit dyno to find out what it really puts out. Next investment will be a HP Tuners software package. Now
If I could find a donor/sponsor/rich uncle I'll be all set. You need that tuner to let the full performance come through. Plus it functions as a scanner/monitor so you can know exactly whats going on. mjbell1 "Blacky" 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab V6 4.3L MSD 6A Ignition, Coil, Cap/Rotor, 8.5mm Wires K&N Cold Air Package, Cat-Back Dual Exhausts CFM Tech. Actually, I ditched the "vortec" styled 195 degree thermostat for a old fashion standard 54mm 180 degree thermostat. That was two years ago and still no problems. And truck has run at 183 degrees since OE type thermo ![]() replaced with old type of thermo, but used the OE seal. ![]()

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
I have no idea what degree stat is in mine, but damn, it never goes over 160 degrees even on the hottest days, and during the winter takes forever to get to even that.

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
I had an 03 s-10 4.3 5 speed with aftermarket clutch, 373 gears, k/n fipk, no cats 40 series flowmaster, dual electric fans off of an ls1 camaro, tuned, the restrictor removed from the throttle body, drag radials and it went 14.5 at i believe it was 94 mph. Not bad it would hang and beat older GT mustangs.

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
i have an x-cab short bed that ive been working on the lat 2 years. im looking to boost low end
currently have home built ram air, k&n, single high flow elec fan, single in-out flow to a 3.5" tip. removed the tuberlance chamber from the intake tube and used some tubing inside to cover up the accordian. have real good mid and top end. if i ease into the throttle at a stop it goes pretty good. after 20 it really gets out there. was told the pulleys and spacer wouldnt help. i know the headers will once i get them. have concidered the v8 tb but wasnt sure which to get. |

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
If you were to get the cam, i would advise to get a mail order tune, so that you can maximize the potential of your modifications. the handheld pre programmers have a very limited modified map in them, so that every vehicle can slightly benefit from it. this is so that they don't sell one ot a person with an out of whack setup that could be harmed by a blind tune (pre programmed tune, mail order or handheld) and blame it all on the company for liability reasons.
I'm a little overtired now so that last part might not have made sense, but i would suggest the cam and the mail order tune (wheatly's or TXVortec350 as he is known on this site, there are others but wheatly was a nice dude to deal with) to get a nice boost out of your truck. tell whoever you decide on to tune your ECM the specs or brand (maybe both) of your headers so that they can be adjusted for in your tune as well as the camshaft you would like. <-Thanks Chuggs ![]() ![]() 98 GMC RCLB K1500/4.3L 265/75/16 BFG AT's/SILENCER DELETE/PROTHANE BUSHING KIT |

Re: Power Mods for the 99-02 4.3 V6
04SilveradoMykk, I have seen your exhaust vids on youtube. How do you like the JBA headers? Noticeable difference? The CFM Tech tb and JBA headers are my next mods.
