Actually, the problem I had:
Where the stock regulator sits, it sits in a "seat".
That 'seat' covers up and seals in the location JET placed their adjustment screw.

IMO: They should have mounted it on the side with some sort of ring gear or slide mechanism.

It's pretty nice.
I only use 2 modes... Economy (87 octane) and Performance1 (89 octane). Performance 2 requires more upgrades and minimum 91 octane.

I tried the towing mode, when I towed my TA to CA, but wasn't too crazy about it. I had better results shifting our of O/D when I bogged down. I never valet my car, so that mode is sort of worthless. If I ever park in a bad area, it's nice to take the key and shut it off, knowing that noone will be able to start it and probably couldn't figure out why...

After my transmission rebuild this summer, I should be able to take better advantage of all the modes. I expect a HUGE difference in power and performance, not to mention the economy of near 100% transfer of power to the rear wheels!

Edit: Forgot to add that it's actually only 5 stages as the 6 stage is "not used". I'm guessing there's a mod/upgrade I don't know about.

Been researching and apparently the suggested one is the Actron CP-7817. It measures 0-60 psi.

They do not make a FPR. That part number, which you probably saw in one of my posts, is for the guage and T-fitting only.

I would recommend the JET unit.

Good catch...

It is the tester unit. Found it on Actron's site.

If anyone knows a better one than JET's...that's easier to adjust?

I read an article on the thirdgen.org site about converting a stock FPR into an adjustable FPR and it still required removing the injector pod housing to adjust it. It sounds like its a pain in the a$$ but once its set its pretty much maintainance free. Can't wait to get mine and see how much more power it makes.

The easiest to adjust is Holley's regulator which is on top of the Injector pod assembly and not the bottom. But you need to buy the whole throttle body for this feature. Turbo city makes a FPR that is adjusted with a 'special tool' accessed from a hole in the bottom of the throttle body.

I have left mine in the line for a couple of years now and haven't had any problems as of yet. I installed mine at the throttle body and not at the fuel filter. The actron part number for the GM TBI adapter is 180-1320. You can call them at 1-800-ACTRON-7 or go to www.actron.com to check pricing and availability. I hope this helps...

What hose adjuster???

If you're talking about the Fernco clamps, Home Depot or Lowe's carries them...about $5/ea.

I have a TBI spacer, so if I try to flip the lid, I can't shut my hood.

If I remember right, it was a 3" ducting w/ 4" Fernco Clamps.

Insure you sand the edges after you cut it...don't want metal chips possibly getting through your filter.

K&N is definitely recommended also.

Others have said they insulated theirs, but I don't seem to have any hot air issues.

I do live in San Diego, though and the air here doesn't get very hot anyway.

Has anyone tried the GM adjustable FPR? You have to plumb a vaccum line to it but I wouldn't foresee a big problem with that. Adjusts FP from idle on up to WOT. Downside is the one I found on a third gen site was 250 bucks US.

Once it is out you will see how restrictive it is. It is way more restictive than anything else in the intake tract.

are you pulling it through the fender opening under the hood or through the front behind the parking light?

i used my old parking lights i had modified from the show truck with the outer lights cut out to increase air flow to that opening when i had the ram air setup on there.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. . . .Whoops.....hey, I just broke it!
