Exhaust setup for a 4.3

I have a 4.3 I figured I may as well try to make the of the situation by beefing up the exhaust. Obviously, my goal is to make the 4.3 sound as deep as possible and louder without other people knowing its a v6

What options are out there for the 4.3?

Re: Exhaust setup for a 4.3

I've tried them all....

There is no escaping the V6 sound with any aftermarket muffler.... however you can still make it sound good.

The best deep sound I ever got was while in between the exhaust set up I cut the tailpipes off at the muffler on a generic single in/ dual out OE replacment type Turbo muffler.... but the interior resononance was so huge, I'd get headaches after a couple minutes. And my sterio couldn't go loud enough over the resonance.

I had a Flowmaster Delta 50, lasted a week before cutting it off and welding up a Magnaflow, that too sounded awful & ricer so I opted for the quietest aftermarket muffler I could find, the Dynomax Super Turbo. I had that for a long time until it developed an internal rattle from a loose baffle. So now I went to the other end of the spectrum and welded up a Flowmaster Super 40, and ya know. I'm happy with it. It obviously sounds like a v6 in the higher rev & accell, but a healthy v6. Idle, light throttle and cruise it sounds like a beefy 8

I don't have a clip of mine, yet.

However here is a buddies 4.3 S10 with a Flowmaster Super 40, He does have magnaflow cats & custom Y-pipe... but mine sounds similar.

I hope this has helped, Cheers -Mykk
