Why not just a single 3" straight pipe?

Re: 03 5.3 exhaust

your stock exhaust is 3in inlet and 2.75 out...... from what i hear the cats on these trucks are pretty much hi flows cats to begin with. You might pick up some but probably not enough to justify the cost

Re: 03 5.3 exhaust

I think a muffler would be beneficial, not only to prevent the obnoxious sound, but to create a little back pressure and help you keep some low end torque, which is an area that a stock 5.3 is already lacking.

Stock intermediate pipe (after the y-pipe) is 2.75" which is why if you buy a 3" inlet muffler it'll slip over the pipe and not be a snug fit to weld up. It's easier to use an adapter or expand the inlet of a 2.5" muffler to fit. I just had mine cut off an replaced with 3" piping.

Corsa. Hands down the best exhaust I have ever heard on a Chevy/GMC pickup.

that could be debated without end, basically the cheapest will be the y-pipe, because you will most likely keep the factory y-pipe, the most expensive will be the x-pipe, i have ran both a y-pipe and h-pipe and personally like the h-pipe the best, but a good cost effective way to go is a y-pipe and i have no problem with them
