DIY Exhaust

I have a 96 silverado 3/4 ton Ext. cab Long box. I recently cut the cats of (as they were plugged) and started putting my own exhaust on it. I am using 3" pipe. I am wanting to do straights up over the rear coming out the sides behind the rear wheels at 45 degrees on each side.

I was curious as to whether or not anyone could help me with the measurements to come up over the rear end.

I would have the stock pipe to come up over the rear end if the previous owner knew what they were doing with a welder as they cut the stock muffler off and stuck 2 pipes together in a "y" to go into the stock single over the rear end.

Any help is appreciated. I am doing this on my own for the experience and because I am on a limited budget. Which is why I could not afford the 2 cats at $200 each needed to replace the old ones.

Re: DIY Exhaust

Are you talking about what length of pipe you'll need? Do you not have the stock tailpipe? If you do then you can get a tape measure and see how long it is, and if you don't then i'm sure the junkyard will have one.

Re: DIY Exhaust

I am talking about what lengths and angles I will need. I do not have the stock pipe as mentioned above.
