Tips question

What would tips like these<-link do for my tone? I want it deeper, and can get these or the slash cut. They have two of the slash cut in stock, and one of the flat cut.

Re: Tips question

tips like those would not give you a deeper tone. they are to short and to small to do much. plus they look like they are perforated, which will probably quieted you down a hair.

get rear tips, not those bolt on ones.

Re: Tips question

I can only do like a 7-9" long tip. So don't get any perforated tips then. OK, I can get some 4" x 7-9" solid tips, and that will help? It is already fairly deep, just want it even deeper.

Re: Tips question

a larger diameter tip will help, but only 7-9" won't really do much. you need a longer tip to really make a difference.

Re: Tips question

Yeah, I knew longer would be better, but I have side exits, in front of the right tire. I can cut off some pipe, and go a little longer- maybe 12" or so. I will have to measure and see for sure. I figured even a 8" or so long tip would do the trick, just to make it a bit deeper.

Re: Tips question

Have the pipes out of the muffler coming back angled so you can fit longer tips. I'm running 24" tips in front of the axle, which is pushing it in terms of fitting them, had to cut and bend the pipes just right to fit tips that long on there but it worked and it has such a deep tone.

Re: Tips question

I can fit up to a 12" long tip on it. I will have to cut the pipe some to do that, but better than a 7-9" long tip I guess. Here is the link to see my new exits as they are now. http://rides.webshots.com/album/5750...es&vhost=rides

Re: Tips question

I'd cut the pipes coming off the muffler as soon as they straighten out to have just enough to weld tips onto and then put some hangers on the tips. That's how mine are ran and it works and sounds great so i'd say it's worth a try.
