Re: magnaflow set-up??
not much, mufflers, cats, resinators, pipe diameter and cross pipes will change sound, as far as the tip it all sounds the same, mostly just for looks.

Re: magnaflow set-up??
What are the size of the 4 tips, diameter and length?
What are teh size of teh 2 tips, diameter and lenght?
There wont be a big difference but if the 4 tips are alot smaller than the 2 tips, you would notice a tone difference.

Re: magnaflow set-up??
I say get rid of the H-pipe.
And just run a DI/DO magnaflow muffler, (does all crossing inside)
and run tailpipes back off the muffler. would save $$$$ and be easier.

Re: magnaflow set-up??
What truck is this for?
Isnt your gas tank going to be in the way of the drivers side pipe?
I like the idea, thats what I'm going to do when I build mine but will use si/so magnaflows.

Re: magnaflow set-up??
haha its a 96 burban thats im building right now into a CCSB prerunner, but nah it has a center mounted 40gal tank behind the receiver, Okay I've been thinking will running duel SI/DO magnaflows having four tail pipes with four tips ruin the sound or will it not make a difference or will it make it sound better??

Re: magnaflow set-up??
Are you running 4" pipe? That is overkill to say the least! Is it just 4' out of the muffler?

Re: magnaflow set-up??
You wont have much of a sound difference between 2 and 4 tips on an exhaust system that is that open (4" pipe).

Re: magnaflow set-up??
I have 24" long tips that make the tone a lot deeper, more rumble. Shorter tips aren't quite as deep, 18" is the shortest I would use but I love my 24"ers. I don't think 4 short tips will be as deep as 2 long tips, but give it a try if you want.

Re: magnaflow set-up??
thanks 88vic that makes since man, so RBP make both a 4" to 5"x12" tip and a 4" to 5"x18" tip, so your saying the 18" would make the tone deeper and a more ground shaking rumble

Re: magnaflow set-up??
I think it would, not a huge difference but noticeable. What's really noticable is a long tip versus a short one. When I cut off my tailpipes I had 3"x6" tips coming off the muffler, not deep like my 3.5"x24" tips I have now. The short tips are really just to look good instead of the piping just cutoff.
