Need some help with my exhaust dilema

first off this is on a 305 obs truck. i'm going to do straight pipes soon, and my delima is between a dump/turndown on the end of the pipe, or running tips out the back.

does anyone know how these two ideas will make straight pipes sound? and which would be louder?

Re: Need some help with my exhaust dilema

If you run turn-downs on straight pipes and have them dump under the bed, you will HATE the drone and vibrations the first time you fire it up.

If you want straight pipes, run them out the back. It will be loud and it will pop and it will sound like ass...but it will be loud. If that's all your going for I guess.

Re: Need some help with my exhaust dilema

If it was me, I would use turndowns past the cab. I like to hear the exhaust as much as possible. Especially since you have a V8.

Re: Need some help with my exhaust dilema

Straight piped coming out under the cab would be horrible.

I say run it to the back

Re: Need some help with my exhaust dilema

A friend in high school had the same exhaust setup and it sounded great, in my opinion.
