what do you think?

i got a 1997 k1500 305. i wanna true dual it with high flow cats with no mufflers, but i wanna have pipe clamped on so i can take it out and put mufflers on it if i dont make it throu inspection then put the pipe back in after i go throu.

What do yall think about that idea

dont go with clamps, the only proper way to do exhaust is welding, here is a lot better way to go so that you can achieve what you want with having your system welded properly....man i am glad im in a state i dont have to deal with that!

Clamps will work fine. Just retorque them a every once in a while. Also, if an exhaust hanger is close to the clamp joint, it will lower the chances of vibration and the weight of the exhaust jacking up the clamped joint.

Have you ever tried to pull apart a clamped joint before? Let alone try to reinstall the muffler back onto the pipe that now has a dimple in it---------good luck with that.
