Re: Atten: 4.3 owners
4.3L with the right tune can take 11-12 psi for a long time. Ive got over 50,000 miles on my truck with a vortech running 11-12 psi. Although I intercooled it about 30,000 miles ago.

As far as taking the abuse....this is a charger made for the s-10 4.3L. Just like running any super charger set up, the life of the engine is directly related to how you treat it.

one complaint here, i could never get the belt to stop squelling on accel and it locked up on me about 15k after install, its still sitting on my closet floor after they rebuilt it

Re: Atten: 4.3 owners
i used that kit on my 97 Sonoma, it was alot of fun and fairly easy to install, took a friend and i 2 days, but we went very slow and took our time, making sure every thing was cleaned up and perfect. that 97 sonoma hauled some descent ass.

Re: Atten: 4.3 owners
Hi gents. I have an 05 4.3L automatic Silverado. I am lacking some serious power with this heavy truck. I had Magnaflows installed onto my truck to give me the V8 sound (sorta) but the lack of power and seeing Jettas quicker than me is starting to get to me on a personal level. Has anyone installed one of these s/c kits on an 03+ Silverado?

Re: Atten: 4.3 owners
I've got a 00 silverado that had a 4.3 that I put the POS powerdyne sc on.
It boosted power a bit but the sc bearings failed. I priced a rebuild and it cost to much so I sourced the bearing locallyand paid about $40 for all 4. I later blew the 4.3 and put in an ht383 with the powerdyne and 2.25 sc pulley.
It fit with very little modification, only the pipe from sc to the throttle body needed modifying. Given a chance to start all over I would not have bought the powerdyne.

Re: Atten: 4.3 owners
Well I think I'm going to buy a Powerdyne System and try to install it on my '04.
My question is at Summitracing they show two different kits.
One for the 1996-2000 and one for 2002-2003.
Which one do you think will fit a 2004?
Guessing 2002-2003.

Re: Atten: 4.3 owners
I know that this is an old post, but I thought I would ask anyways. I have an 06 Silverado with the 4.3 and a manual tranny. I assume that is would fit, but is it possible that other companies make chargers for the 4.3 that would fit?

Re: Atten: 4.3 owners
FYI... If anyone was interested in Turbocharging their 4.3L, STS has told me that their universal kit would do the job. All you would have to do is have a shop to custom some pipes...
