Re: Supercharger for my 383
any charger for a 350 vortec from 96-99 will work for your app. Fuel system will be an issue though. The injectors for these engines cannot be upgraded unless you swap in a "marine" intake which has larger injectors. The intake is pricey however and a little fab work is needed but can be done with a some research on the forum.

Re: Supercharger for my 383
383's are a much faster-revving engine, and give a lot more power than your std 350. But honestly, until you drive one it's hard to imagine the difference :)

Re: Supercharger for my 383
a 383 should actually take longer to rev up due to the longer stroke, while shorter stroke engines (such as a 327 or 302) rev quicker but put out less torque and power overall...

Re: Supercharger for my 383
Dont install it until you get the fueling sorted out. You need more fuel than the stock 19pph poppets can give. Lean conditions with boost will kill an engine before you can even hear the knock.

Re: Supercharger for my 383
well since its a 93 all is good, I just installed a new 255 pump, CFI-tech bored TB and ordered a set of 90# injectors. I am still waiting for my AFPU so I think I will be ok. I just need to make sure that the compressor is in good shape. I called whipple and they still have some replacement parts if needed. but if I need a rebuild then I have to sort that out my self.
