Whipple Rebuild Question???
How would I rebuild my compressor rotors on my Whipple S/C....This is from my dad's Tahoe and I'm thinking about putting it on my Vortec 383. I just have to rebuild the compressor first...

Re: Whipple Rebuild Question???
There are a couple companies out there that re-build them. Search the net.

Re: Whipple Rebuild Question???
This may sound dumb but I found a Whipple that was used on a '00 GMC 2500 w/ Vortec 350, will this work with my '97 Vortec 383 (350 Stroked)?

Re: Whipple Rebuild Question???
The little 1.6L compressor will only get you about 5 psi of boost with the 2.5" pulley on your 383. Also spinning that compressor that fast will give you higher IATs.

Re: Whipple Rebuild Question???
I'm lost one what you said man.....I don't know if my brain isn't working or what lol. Which is this referring to?

EDIT: Disregard that last statement lol. So your saying that the Whipple is no good for the 383? or you saying I should get a bigger pulley or Alky?

Re: Whipple Rebuild Question???
The whipple will be too small for your 383 unless you only want 4-5 lbs of boost. If it was me and I had a 383, I would do what James B. did and use the 2.3L compressor, use the procharger kit with the bigger D1SC head unit or run a turbo.

I'm assuming this will be fine on a 350? I may put my dad's on my 350 after I get it rebuilt. What is the 2.3L Compressor? Is this a Whipple with bigger compressor rotors? If so, how to I know if it has 2.3L compressors and how do I get it?

Bankspowered98, Is it $475 to rebuild the whole Whipple and how long did it take to get rebuilt? If it is then I'll rebuild my dad's and use it and get the other to have it just in case...

Thats funny. I know a guy with the HT383 running a 1.6 Whipple @ 8psi with the 2.75" pulley.

I have the 2.75" pulley on mine with my 350 and I see between 8-9 psi of boost. JamesB with the ht383, 2.3L blower with 2.5" pulley with the intercooler saw 10 psi of boost before he broke the snout of the crank.

Re: Whipple Rebuild Question???
My 350 peaks at 6-8 psi with the 2.75" pulley. Guess it all depends on how efficient the setup flows.
