Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
I really appreciate it Playtoy, but I'm missing one thing...a Silverado, lol. In December or January I plan to buy a used 5.3L truck though, so I may check your stuff out at that time. Thanks again

Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
Edit the tables to disable TM.
[System Parameters] Abuse Mode Test Disable MPH = 0 MPH Abuse Mode Test Enable = 9600 RPM Abuse Mode Enable RPM = 0 RPM Abuse Mode Enable Speed = 0 MPH Abuse Mode Enable %TPS Threshold = 0% TPS [System Tables] Abuse Mode %Torque Reduction vs RPM Set All Values = 0 (NO TORQUE) I USUALLY MULT THE TABLE BY .2 TO KEEP 20 PERCENT TM.

Some of these settings are incorrect. [System Parameters] Abuse Mode Test Disable MPH = 0 MPH Correct Abuse Mode Test Enable = 9600 RPM Correct Abuse Mode Enable RPM = 0 RPM THIS SHOULD BE MAXXED Abuse Mode Enable Speed = 0 MPH THIS SHOULD BE MAXXED Abuse Mode Enable %TPS Threshold = 0% TPS THIS SHOULD BE MAXXED By maxxing out the values, whatever parameter will never be realized, the way you have it set will have abuse mode occur as soon as throttle is applied or if the truck moves above 0 mph, abuse mode is different than Torque Management you do not have to do any of the above changes if you simply change the CONSTANTS. If the CONSTANTS are disbled, then there is no reason for the PCM to use a TABLE. So here we go. The easy way to disable ABUSE MODE.(the mouse clicks are in order, just select each parameter as listed in this order) Constants>System Parameters>Abuse Mode Disable Vehicle Speed> Set to 0 MPH.also Constants>System Parameter> Abuse Mode Duration>0 seconds Now the correct way to disable Torque Management. Constants>Transmission Parameters>Torque Management Enable Coolant Temp> set to 150° C by setting the temp. to max setting 150°, if set so high, the coolant temp will never get this hot, so TM will never be engaged. Tables>Spark Tables> there are 4 tables that reference TM, you do not have to mess with these as you have allready disabled TM enabling by setting the coolant temp to 150°C. If you want to leave a little TM, you will need to set a TM activation temp, then go into Tables>Spark Tables> then change the 4 tables. Goodluck. peace Pauly

Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
Just so all of you know, there is now a scanner, logger with wideband O2 inputs that works directly with the Tunercat OBD2 setup. It is called MXScan, it is only $69 right now for the basic setup, if you buy this now the $69 will be put toward the Pro version which will be released at a later date which costs $150.
Here is the link http://www.moates.net/mxscan/ here is the discussion forum for Monodax the developer of MXScan. http://www.monodax.com/forums/ Just a reminder, although Tunercats OBD2's rights have been sold to Jet and they are selling the product at a much higher price and with a very limited licensing structure, you can still buy Tunercats OBD2 through moates.com as long as you buy the Roadrunner PCM emulator with it or already have a Roadrunner emulator. The Roadrunner is a PCM that is installed in place of your stock PCM that allows you to make ON THE FLY CHANGES to your tune with no waiting for uploading or downloading of the tune to the PCM. The Jet product is %5000 for the Pro Unlimited license, with the Craig Moates Roadrunner, the cost is only roughly $2000. here are the vehicles that are cvered by Tunercats OBD2 The following definition files are now available: OBD2_07 1996 - 1997 Vortec Trucks (4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L) OBD2_06 1998 - 2000 Vortec Trucks (4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L) OBD2_02 1999 - 2000 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) OBD2_03 2001 - 2002 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) OBD2_04 2003 - 2005 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) OBD2_08 1996 - 1997 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette/Impala LT1 OBD2_09 1997 - 1998 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette LS1 OBD2_01 1999 - 2001 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette LS1 OBD2_05 2002 - 2003 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette LS1 OBD2_10 2004 Corvette OBD2_12 2004 GTO OBD2_13 2004 - 2005 Cadillac CTS-V OBD2_14 2006 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) I beleive the Roadrunner will only work with the GEN 3 LS1 based 99+ truck engines, Corvettes, Cadillacs, GTO's and Camaros/Firebirds. Even if you wanted to tune the 96-2000 OBS Vortec 4.3, 305, 350, or 454 it would be worth your while to buy the Tunercats OBD2/Roadrunner emulator combo even if you dont use the Roadrunner as it will still save you $3000 in unnecessary cost. Right now MXScan doesnt work on the 1996-1997 4.3/305/350 or 454 Vortecs, this is due to the 96/97 PCM's using a very different operating system than the newer PCM's. The developer is working on this as we speak and he promises compatability for us 96-97 users. When this is completed, we finally will have the ONLY product package that will read/write(flash),tune, scan and log (with wideband O2 sensors) on the market for our 96-2000 OBS trucks. Here is Craig Moates website, there is some awesome stuff here. http://www.moates.net/ peace Pauly

Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
I have a quick question that hopefully you all can help me with and maybe it has already been answered. Since Tunercats was sold to jetchips, how and where do we purchase other definition files if we already have the tuner? Also is the price the same as before and will these now be limited to only a couple of vehicles? Thanks.

Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
Quick question. I had a hypertech programmer that was thrown away by mistake but I have the tuner program in my engine. Would I still have to have the dealer reset my computer before doing tunercat?

Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
Guys, I was reading through this thread for the last few days, interested in getting the software to tune my recently-acquired Chevy Suburban, my older Chevy truck and my buddy's Suburban. While looking, I found that a vendor through our company carries it, so we've now added it to our site. Although we mostly sell Jeep parts, we've added this to our store.
We have it available for $375 plus shipping. Here is a link to it: http://www.bjsoffroad.com/cartgenie/...pid=804&cid=32 If you have any questions, shoot me an email or pm me here. Thanks! Last edited by billyrb : 01-09-2007 at 11:01 AM. |

Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
So is there a forum or someplace to find the settings other people use. This program could get hard to use for some beginners.

Re: Yeah! Full pcm edit program now available for our trucks!
HI! I just dumped a 383 w/ scat crank, rods, KB pistons, Comp Cam etc. into my 2000 Chevy K2500 Classic bodystyle pickup. I am having problems with it idleing in gear. After it gets some temp in it, it will surge from 100 rpm all the way to 900 rpms, and will sometimes even die. Will this program give me the ability to fix this surging problem. When I had this motor built my builder had told me that the computer will recalibrate itself with this slightly larger cam... Is any of this true. I am new to this website and everyone sounds very knowlegeable. I appreciate any information.
Thanks, Mike |
