97 5.7 cam for 4x4
I have a 97 with a 5.7, i do some towing and some offroad, what would be the best cam, i dont want anything too crazy but i want some more power, i dont want anything that I have to go to a higher stall converter.

Whats the best for my application.

Then you can't accomplish enough to bother with a cam change.
Get a good tune for the stock cam and work on the exhaust, and your off-road and towing capability will be about as good as you can get.

I'm happy with mine...it's roller. You can also go bigger w/o a bigger converter...08-411-8. I think they will get you around 70-90 hp over stock....yours is around 245 hp IIRC.

Like mentioned though...headers/exhaust and a tune would help you a lot with what you have.

ive got longtubes, 3 inch back to 2 12inch glass packs dumped right under the back seat, i need to get it run back further so i can get the heat off my gas tank, its killing my mileage, already melted the heatshield
