Vortec Valve spring question.
Ive been searching for a set of springs for my heads that can handle around .550 lift and dont require maching. I found that Crane Cams 10309-1 is popular but those most be old posts because Crane is out of business from what i understand. Cant find them for sale anywhere.
Can someone tell me some other alternatives? Thank you.

Not for sure but maybe the zz4 springs or the LT4 ones with the retainers ground down. IIRC there are also comp ones just dont remember the numbers.

Those are the only ones I know of that give you drop in clearance for .550 lift. Awesome springs and worth the extra money.

they're simmilar to the 26918 springs which work as well. the 918's have more seat pressure. thats what I ran, there are others out there too, search around, should be plenty of info, IIRC the ZZ4 springs I think work, the LT4 springs might work, also the yellow LS6 spings might work too. I'm not sure what retainers people are running with those springs, but the 26918 or 26915's from comp with the 787 retainers definantly work.

Re: Vortec Valve spring question.
Why not just grind the valve boss down for clearence? Its a $60 tool that you hook to a hand drill, not difficult in the least bit. Then run the correct spring for your cam.
