Re: which chip for a 92 chevy
First off there's no "off the shelf" chip that can do that. The chip that would come closest to doing that would probably be the one you have now, the stock chip. The next best option would be a custom chip from a professional tuner. And the last option would be "DIY" tunning. This can give the best results, but takes a long time to learn and can be frustrating at times. I just recently finished tunning my truck, took me 11 mounts. I wouldn't dare say that it was perfect, but perfection isn't the point. It's the feeling of success after such a long and tiresome battle that's the best. If I had another engine to tune, knowing what I know now, it would probably only take two mounts.
1993 S10, 355ci.V8, MPFI, 2" TB, 6395 ECM, $0D Mask, TunerCat RT, Datamaster, Comp 280H Magnum cam, Elderbrock Performer RPM heads, 4L60E, 8.8 rear, 8.90s 1/8 mile.

DIY tuning would probably be cheaper in the long run, as you always have the truck and can tweak it whenever you want to.
1977 Chevy K20 - 350/350/203 10/14FF
1980 GMC K2500 - 350/465/205 10/14FF
1992 Chevy C1500 SWB - 5.7/4L60/14SF - totaled 5/9/08
1993 Chevy C2500 - 350/80E/241 10/14FF
1994 Chevy K1500 - 350/60E/241 IFS/G80 10 bolt

I agree. But with time and like you mentioned, more money, a professional tuner can dial in a tune for your engine.

I know what you meant. I did not feel like it did anything to me. The shifting actually got worse. I only have mild mods though. Cam, intake, flat tops, and headers.
