93 Chevy V-6 to V8 swap spark knock
Its been awhile since i have been on the site due to me being in Iraq for OIF V. A couple of years ago I swapped my 4.3L for a 5.7L TBI. The engine I built was bored .040 over, stock crank, rods, intake, heads. I installed a edelbrock performer cam. My compression ratio is 9.39:1. I have a spark knock while accelerating. I run 91 octane fuel, that makes it a little better but it wont go away. I have my timing set correctly. Do I need to use a proggramed chip? Someone please help!!!!

Are you running a stock 5.7 tune? You will defiantly need a tune to make it run right.

Do you have your distributor set to 0 degrees?

He makes it sound like he is running on the stock 4.3 chip and stock 46# 4.3 injectors.

Are the knock sensors for the 4.3 and 5.7 the same? If not, that could be your issue.

Have you vefified your fuel pressure?

No, the 4.3 uses two knock sensors.

Thats what I was thinking.

You need a V8 memcal, injectors, and knock sensors to start. Then get a tune.
