Re: Tuning a Whipple with the EBL
here's my boost stuff from the EBL's bin.
I'm gonna need to go through the BPC calcs (FP vs Map) for the BPC in the upper MAP areas. no big deal.
I wonder if this SA reduction will be good. I'll probably pull a few extra degrees to be safe (in the beginning).
thoughts?
-the BPC vs. Boost is still set for a stock L05 (no need to change until now). my current BPC is 85
can't forget about this one

Re: Tuning a Whipple with the EBL
excuse my ignorance, but i didnt really pay atention to the thread othe rthna that you got a whipple. im having a hell of a time tuning my truck with a 1 bar map sensor, i mean, i can do it easy enough but what all do you got there? ecm swap from a cyclone? i have a 2 bar map sensor that does nothing but send a signal for my methanol controller, i could hook it up and redo the whole ve table, but the problem with that would be the table would be so low definition, or would that even work at all?

Re: Tuning a Whipple with the EBL
o wow, thats a whole after market ecm. looks nice. it says it has "flash memory" on board, would this mean you treat it as if you have an emulator, except you cant change it in real time, you just have to manually upload the tune? how much did that thing run you? that sucks that i dont have that option, but im glad i have my ecm, its nice to play with shift points. i guess a cyclone ecm swap is my best bet if i ever wanted to upgrade.

Re: Tuning a Whipple with the EBL
you can load eight seperate bins (before you start driving) into the computer and switch instantly between the 8 while driving.
really convenient

yea, i just plug in my emulator and go. and the aldl cable too of course.
it would really suck burning chips and tuning without a wideband. iv got it fairly easy with an emulator and a wideband, to bad im no good at tuning lol, its coming along slowely. got the idle table done real good, my wot fuel is good, my cruise, light accel, and hard accel are just a little too rich. no more massive problem areas at least.

Re: Tuning a Whipple with the EBL
yah, I've been slacking. lol
you ever get a 14 bolt for that thing?
looks like you dropped a little coin, dude. nice. lunati cam, forged pistons, rebuilding the blower...geez.!
get rid of those black turn signal covers...just my humble opinion. I still like your struck, tho
edit
fwiw
the bores on the whipple (where the tb mounts to the whip) measure over 52mm. thought I was gonna have to remove it and grind (my 50mm tb). no sweat

yea, its a whole new block and all(4 bolt main), the whipple started making noise so i had it rebuilt, blew the motor up about a week after that and drove it around with the blown motor for a couple months while i built up a new motor. i just got the 14 bolt in like a week ago, 4.56 and a full detroit just like the 10 bolt. really liking the 3/4 ton drums, huge improvement, need to upgrade the fronts because the back tires lock up now. done alot to the truck in the last year, only thing that is original to the truck or that hasnt been rebuilt on the entire drivetrain is the front drive shaft and the intake manifold lol. rebuilt the front diff a weekend or 2 before i started on the 14 bolt, new transfer case and driveshaft were a result of a u-joint failure, the list goes on.
as for the throttle body size, im pretty sure iv got the big block throttle body(or bored to that size) on my truck, cant believe iv never taken the time to measure the bores, but the previous owner of my truck said it had been bored.

Re: Tuning a Whipple with the EBL
rocker out of adjustment? distributor tight? what temp T-stat ? its possible its too rich, have you looked at your duty cycle? injectors could be static too.
