Re: what is going on?
i think we found your problem! thats not much SA. with my table watch for knock counts. if you get knock then pull a couple degrees and smooth it out. i tend to need a little more timing than most

Re: what is going on?
replaced the orange/ red diaphram and still only 13 psi. the only thing left is the pump.
or the fuel filter, but mine is less than a year old, with very little driving. would a stock quality fuel filter be doing this or do you think it is the pump?
do you all have "high flo" fuel filters?

i have a stock filter. i would lean more towards the spring. its possible its the pump, but if you opened the throttle the pressure would drop to almost nothing.

Re: what is going on?
pretty sure it is the pump. what happend was i found these walbro 255lph pumps on ebay. well when you click on it there is a compairsion of a TRE pump that is cheaper, and a bunch of other junk that talked me into buying it, but i just realized that they are just a stock replacement pump, and i thought it was high performance like the walbro . so i just ordered an eldlebrock 255lph pump and some shocks through summit.

Re: what is going on?
ok. i put a stock 350 vortec truck pump in mine. it works excellent. im not sure about the edelbrock pumps. havnt heard much about em. when i installed my pump it raised my pressure by about 2-3 psi. just because it had so much more power than the old unit.

Re: what is going on?
Did you check the hose in the tank for cracks? Mine did that. It would idle and go to about 1500rpm. Anything past that was horrible. It took about 1 minute to get to 55mph.

Re: what is going on?
It dosent pop any more but ti is still a complete dog. Fuel pressure at about 18 and put injector scaler at 72 PDA

is that with my ve and timing? what are your BLMS?
you probably want your flowrate about 68-70. that gives you some "wiggle" room for more fuel if needed

Re: what is going on?
that is with your spark, but not your ve. my blm's were 108-128. i took the PW values and doubled them.
i am going to mess with the ve tables again now

Re: what is going on?
drove around today and messed with the VE tables for about an hour and a half. and got it to run alot better, but for some reason your spark table did not transfer into the new bins i made, so a day of tuning wasted lol.
i now have all the VE and spark in one tune so ill try it tomorow

Re: what is going on?
it definately liked the spark inrease. there was a flat, sputtering/popping almost all the time off idle and to 2300 at all times but with the increased spark it dosent do that any more. i think in some of the higher rpms it wants more spark. there was very little spark retard going on so i think i am going to give it more.
when rolling down the highway it really dosent accellerate very good intill it goes in to PE. and when it does go into pe, it dosent take off hard, it just accellerates lightly.
your VE table was very rich also. in some places 20-30 % and it barley added fuel anywhere. i thought that was weird.

i meant to tell you i had the timing retarded a couple degrees due to detonation(still havnt figured out why) but it wasnt a timing issue. i think my injectors were static is all. but yea you probably could add some timing. not sure what to tell you about it being rich. with only 18psi i would think it would take all the fuel you could give it. you shure it isnt lean at WOT.? i cant remember, do you have a wideband?

Re: what is going on?
Set up a timing light. Shine on your balancer. If you can see movement on the timing you have a bad distributor. A quick fix is to use more than one gasket. Add one at a time untill it stops. The best thing to do is get a high quality replacement if this is your problem.

Re: what is going on?
no i dont have a wide band. i am trying to bum one off of someone, or try to "rent one" some how. i dont know if its lean at wot or not. i am talking about just cruising around for the most part. not really even messing with wot yet. what is the basic rules for spark tuning? advance 5 degree at a time untill it knocks then retard it? i think i am going to advance the whole table by say 3 deg?
Also do i HAFT to get a wb02? not trying to spend any more money
and 94 1500. not trying to be a jerk in any way, but most of the problems with the truck is from switching cam/ heads. and i am trying to get it tuned right.i appreciate the help but i dont think it is a basic problem, i anticipate it is in the computer.

Re: what is going on?
you dont need a WBO2 but they help alot. as far as timing, start with low kpa, say 20-40 add timing untill you find where the engine feels happiest. then work on 40-60 kpa and so on. most people try and tune for the least ammount of kpa at idle. then at cruising speeds do the same thing. say 50 mph with cruise set. add or remove timing in the area you are cruising in untill you get the lowest kpa, or tps reading. for WOT add timing untill you feel a power loss, or get detonation, then pull a couple degrees.
BTW the spark table i gave you should be pretty close. i would get the fueling right and then come back to SA tuning.
AE is going to need alot of work too,

Re: what is going on?
my kpa fluctuates like crazy. if i am doing 35 down the road at 1500 rpm its 25, but if i am doing 55 at 1500 rpm it is almost 80. is this normal?
and i am going to search AE right now

yea probably an AE issue. you should be at 45-55kpa at 50-55 mph
