tuning for 454tbi
ok im still waiting on my new transmission, but i have my 454 tbi on and wired. i put the pod off my old tbi on it, so i still have 350 injectors at 24psi. im just curious whats going to need the most work. im shure my iac flow and start up will be the worst?

Re: tuning for 454tbi
You'll need more TPS AE. When you open the throttle, you'll have more air moving and need more fuel.

Re: tuning for 454tbi
You would probably benefit more from a single plane if you don't have one yet.
I would guess the IAC changes woulnd't be so much; have never compared the IAC passages between the 454 TB vs others. I have considered porting the IAC opening on top of the TB for more airflow at WOT.

Re: tuning for 454tbi
ANTY on mine. I'm working with the ANTZ cauz I couldn't find the #&*#&$ ANTY. Found the ANTZ in the Moates files..I think..Ya cauz the .xdf & .ads there are the ones that matched.
EDIT: found anty it was posted on 11/10..a far better bin to start with than antz, lots less tweaking to make it right.

Re: tuning for 454tbi
If there is a better (more functional) mask for the 7747 I'd like to know. It's a dog ECM anyway, but good for learnin' this fun chit.

Re: tuning for 454tbi
no matter what i do i end up running out of PW when under AE at high rpm. im nearly static from 4500-5200 and when you add AE on top of that its bad news. i really dont want 454 injectors but dont have the cash for an external regulator to raise my FP over 25psi.

Re: tuning for 454tbi
You could use a pencil grinder to lengthen the slot of the FPR, or boost spring pressure with a shim.

Re: tuning for 454tbi
I have no idea where it comes from (55psi TBI?) but the stock FPR had a massive silver spring that I had to cut to get my pressure down to 18psi when I installed the JET FPR, and gained 2.5mm adjustment lengthening the slot. I would shim the spring to start till you find/build a spring with the right rate. I'm sure to end up with a VAFPR we will see.

Re: tuning for 454tbi
i cant get anymore because the spring bottoms out and it goes to max pressure, not good. i simply need a vafpr or bigger injectors. as of right now i have no $ but i have injectors so theyre most likely going in

Re: tuning for 454tbi
yeah im thinking my 90#s at 14-15 psi will be plenty. only thing that bothers me now it my warm restart it wants to load up with fuel. i have cut my cranking BPW in half and still nearly dies when i crank it. i cant inagine what it would do with the 90#s
