Re: post your 1/4 mile times
so far my best 1/4 was a 9.39 with only 6 seconds of spray! I am use to 1/8 mile so I forgot to put more time in the timer. I wanted to try to get in the 8's before the end of the year but I haven't been able to race much lately!

Exclamation Re: post your 1/4 mile times
Here is a link to several of my 1/4 mile runs, actual time slip scans. This was when I had just started on my 95 Sierra and it still had the LO5/350 and very few mods. I don't have any time slips with the 383 yet but will this spring.

The time slips are about 10 post down from the top, just ignore the other junk. Its just easier to link to it then add a new thread with all the photos scans.

Follow this link to time slips: http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/...eal-cheap.html

Everything got faster after 1995! The Vortec's and all the LS engines, etc. Plus the police package probably had a hot tune, dual exhaust, bigger injectors, etc. Your times don't surprise me.

Here is a video of a part throttle 0-100 mph run with a 30 mph roll out for traction. Note the rpm and you'll see its only part throttle. Now this is a 5000 lb. extended cab with a TBI (fancy electric carb). This spring I'll post some full throttle 100 mph blast. Pretty darn quick for a TBI, huh?

The Police PAckage Tahoes have thesame spark and fueling as the other L31's do, as wella s the same stock L31 19 pph poppet injection, and only has duel exhaust to teh muffler just like any other L31 Vortec 350.

Those times surprise me, as they are the same as my rcsb L31 truck with 3.08 gears. My truck is a fully loaded C1500 truck, the Police PAckage Tahoes wer not for the most part although they do have a variety of interior options. They have the 13" brakes, big alternator and 130 mph cluster, and came with H rated tires, no speed limiter.

I assume this Police PAckage Tahoe is a 2wd model?? Therefore also has the. 3.08.

Re: post your 1/4 mile times
all two wheel drives don't have 3.08's do they? I know I swapped a 90 model truck from 3.08 to 3.42 and it made a world of difference.

Yea, Its all stock and you are correct, no fancy tune or exhaust and it's 2wd. It does have some differences in the program. It will lock the converter in 2nd at WOT and will lock the converter in 3rd and 4th no matter what the engine temp is and as quickly as 30mph. All in all it gets decent mileage (17ish) to and from work and keeps me from getting a ticket because it looks like the PO.

Re: post your 1/4 mile times
These numbers are all useless without track elevation and conditions(although a few did have them posted). You guys with forced induction and NOS are affected less than the N/A guys. Here's a calculator for N/A, NOS, and forced induction. This helps if people want to know their approx. predicted times, if they ran at sea level.

406 cubic inches of small block chevy, and still gets 20mpg
