Re: V6 dyno results

How much did that dyno run cost you? (that is if you dont mind me asking) Was that the only run you made?

Re: V6 dyno results

For those that don't know, I go to NADC. I could have ran it as much as I wanted to. It didn't cost anything to run it on the dyno, but I am paying alot to be there.

I wanted to run it, so I would have a baseline. After I finsh my Scrambler and atleast start my J10, I plan on rebuilding the GMC's motor.

Not going to happen. Although a 500 caddy would be nice.

I'll sell you a 5.7. REALLY CHEAP?! LOL

But really, why bother modding the motor extremely in a V6 truck? It's like modding a Geo Metro.

Re: V6 dyno results

How many 6 cylinder fullsize trucks do see that has been modified?
How many people just bolt in a V8 and forget about it?

I know it will not be as good as a V8, but why not build it anyway?

Re: V6 dyno results

Find yourself a wrecked Syclone or Typhoon and snag the motor.

Not a bad idea, but I don't like power adders.

Differant is good and it is your truck but you don't have 130 hp. You don't like power adders so you might make 225 hp at best with everything you can do. Now if you built the crap out of it then dropped a 150 shot you will have some people giving you the nod but short of that you will have a truck with a good amount of money and still no power.

Again to each his own and plenty of people like cars that are purely a labor of love but don't expect anyone to loose a race to you.

Kinda what I was thinking. You ran the dyno to get a baseline, which leads me to believe you're planning to add power. Yet, you don't like power adders.

Re: V6 dyno results

By power adders, I mean nitrous, turbos, or superchargers.

Then you should specify that you don't like forced induction. "Power adders" can cover anything from a new muffler to a blower.

Re: V6 dyno results

I watched a blown 5.4L F150 make 548hp at the wheels, I just think it is kind of too easy (and expensive) to add a blower.

Re: V6 dyno results

As far as what I want, I think about 350HP at the motor wouldn't be too hard to get.
