Re: corvette servo
I am only aware of there being a corvette servo for 4l60e's but I'm not 100% sure

Re: corvette servo
I am with Biggame, does this or can this cause any negative affects. I don't want to drop my tranny b/c of this.

It will make 2nd and 4th hold better since those 2 gears apply the band in the tranny. It will also firm up the 1-2 and 3-4 shift. I recommend the billet servo from PATC.

Re: corvette servo
I plan on doing servo upgrades this winter but I am gonna go with the billet servos, they have even more holding power than the corvette servo.

Re: corvette servo
You may end up with a fairly harsh 1-2 shift...There is no band adjustment so be aware of it before you change the servo.

Re: corvette servo
So I got the Vette servo. I'm under the truck and looking at this going how the heck I'm going to get up there to get at it. It is right next to the cat.
So my instructions show pictures of how the different pieces go in. There isn't any written instructions.
Q: Once the clip is removed, does the whole assembly just come out?
I also got the newer pin as well.
Does anyone know where there is a how to on this?
Thanks,
James

Re: corvette servo
Do you have the tool to compress the servos in, and pull the clip out? Its, easy you just pull the old onces out and the new ones go in the same way the old ones came out. Same order and everything. You might have to lower the exaust on ut truck BTW. I have a Full set of Billet Servos and A Boost Valve, so I did mine when it was out. Your shifts should be good, but to much, no way! I have the line pressure bumped up in mine also, and its gets rubber into second and a really firm into third, but I am still going to get the full transgo,I had one in my last truck and it was awsome.

Re: corvette servo
to remove servo, i hope you have a new blue o-ring and a drain pan. to remove servo cover you will need to use a flat tip screwdriver to pop out the wire clip around it, inside lip. look for a slot to install screwdriver you will see the wire clip. if its too dirty clean the area before attempting it. after you get the wire clip out pull cover out until you see a blue o-ring. if the cover comes off then your lucky. if it dont you will have to break the oring and pull it out through the slot, then the cover will come off.
pull out servo assembly. if clearance is an issue for removal you will have to disassemble the servo there, by removing the snap ring. you will need snap ring pliers. about a pint-quart of fluid will leak out, so have a couple of quarts of atf fluid handy(dexron III). there will be a spring on the end of the assembly thats loose, it will either come out or stay in when you pull out the assembly, dont lose or forget that spring.
once you get the servo assembly out disassemble it if you didnt have to when removing.
reassemble as per the picture. no special tool is need. a vise worked well for me to get it back together. for those who have to reassemble it while installing it your on your own(PITA)
reassembly will be tricky. keeping the plastic orings on and dont forget the spring. make sure the servo assembly is seated properly and plastic orings are not off or twisted.
for those installing the longer pin or gold transgo shift kit spacers, band clearance will have to be checked. you want the cover to push in at least 1/8 of an inch with wire clip installed. one reason so you can install the wire clip. the other reason so you dont burn up the tranny(check transgo instructions). once clearance is checked then remove cover and install blue oring. if your not sure about clearance issues dont install the longer pin or gold spacer bands. each tranny is different in respect to band clearance. I used a longer pin in mine instead of the gold spacer bands. tried one spacer band with longer pin and couldnt get the cover to fully seat.(wire clip woldnt stay seated in the groove)
to get the cover on use a pry bar to hold it in place while installing the wire clip. once that is done check fluid level engine on fully warmed up in park.
